00:00All right, so American League MVP is going to be decided here
00:03over the next couple of weeks, and not quite a toss-up
00:06because Judge is a pretty big favorite,
00:09but he's been a bigger favorite to win the MVP,
00:11and now that he's back playing right field again
00:13or the outfield again and throwing the ball,
00:15you've seen a little bit of a push.
00:17Raleigh's home runs are going to give him a chance to win this award,
00:22but Judge is minus 250, Raleigh is plus 180.
00:24I guess the better question is what would Raleigh have to do
00:27to win it at this point, or are these odds just simply wrong?
00:31I mean, every time I think, oh, okay, Judge is going to tie a bow on this thing,
00:35Cal does one of those little home run sprees, right?
00:38And he's got six home runs in his last 14 games,
00:40and I think ultimately when you look at the offensive output from Judge,
00:45and now he's kind of back doing his thing as well,
00:47where you see that OPS now pushing to the 1,100 territory,
00:52the batting average is way up there.
00:54I think it's going to be really hard to surpass,
00:56but to answer your question,
00:58I think Cal Raleigh is going to need to push north of that 60 home run threshold
01:02and really make that gap as significant as possible.
01:06And if it's 60-plus homers and you're looking at maybe a 20 home run gap,
01:10maybe voters look at that a little bit more
01:12and really talk themselves into the catching side of things.
01:15But when you look at the overall offensive output,
01:18it's really hard to turn away from a 321, 443, 656 slash line,
01:24which is what Aaron Judge is sporting right now.
