The charred remains of a six-year-old boy was found inside one of the five double-storey terrace houses that were engulfed by fire at the people's housing scheme in Batu Kawa, Kuching on Monday (Aug 28).

00:12 A Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Centre spokeperson said they received a distress
00:17 call at around 1.10pm.
00:20 Upon arrival, they were informed that a child was still trapped inside one of the houses.
00:26 Rescuers found the remains of Zaya Nazim Zainal Abidin in an upper-level room of one of the
00:31 houses at around 3.30pm.
00:34 The remains were subsequently handed over to the police.
00:38 An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
