More twists still to come?

00:00 Michael, on to Manchester City now. What's the latest you can tell us in terms of the
00:04 transfer market? Because we've seen it being very, very slow and in and out,
00:09 and not really much needed from them as we've touched on before. But is there any late business
00:14 that could go on before the deadline? Yeah, I mean, well, you said it there,
00:19 the European champions, they don't need a huge amount in the market. But I suppose the departures
00:24 have perhaps slightly just at times forced them into the market a little bit. And obviously,
00:29 you want a little bit of a refresh, don't you, every season. So yeah, I mean, the player that
00:33 we are expecting imminently is Jeremy Doku. Yeah, City have agreed a 65 million pound,
00:38 or 65 million euro deal with Rennes for the winger. I think that's about 55 million pound
00:46 in around that region. So yeah, I think it'd be an interesting sign up for City. Someone who
00:51 offers a little bit of something different, I suppose, than the players have got. He is a really
00:56 raw, energetic, energetic midfielder, a right footed winger as well, who may well be utilised
01:03 on the right as well, which would be quite an interesting aspect, I think, for City. So yeah,
01:07 I think it'd be really interesting to see how City harness that as well. And Guardiola, listen,
01:12 you know, he does like his dribblers, I suppose. And you know, Grealish is very much a dribbler,
01:16 and Foden is, and even De Bruyne to a certain extent. But I think you'll have to obviously be
01:20 a bit of adaption to get into the fundamental of always of Guardiola that you've got to keep the
01:25 ball. You can't lose it, which obviously wingers do tend to do, attacking dribbling wingers. So
01:31 yeah, I'd be interested to see how he gets on. And yeah, certainly an interesting sign up for City,
01:35 who obviously will look to replace Riyad Mahrez, who departed earlier this summer.
01:39 I am expecting another departure imminently as well in a report, agreed 25 million euro fee
01:47 with Al Masir, the Saudi Arabian side. So yeah, I think that will be wrapped up pretty soon.
01:51 It's a player as well, it's worth remembering, won all five Premier League titles under Pep
01:55 Guardiola. It's only a handful of players have done that during his time at City. So yeah,
02:00 I really think he'll be very fondly remembered by City fans. At one point was probably one of the
02:06 best centre backs in the league. I still think there's a very good player there. Actually,
02:09 I'm surprised that some of the top Premier League sides haven't made a move for Laporte. I think
02:14 Leicester Spurs and Arsenal were linked. I actually personally think he would be a great
02:17 sign up for both of them. But yeah, he's a fantastic player, but I don't think he'll be
02:22 a huge miss for City, just given the resources they have in that area. And then I think a few
02:27 names to monitor in the final weeks of the season. Concello, I think he will leave and
02:32 probably join Barcelona, probably on loan. Cole Palmer, I mean, a couple of days ago,
02:38 I said I think he's going to stay. I don't know because Doku coming in. If I had a bit of money
02:43 on it, I think he'll stay, Palmer, but I'm not 100% sure on that. And I mean, the player's pretty
02:48 much said it will be a transfer or a real stay. It won't be a loan move, which is quite interesting
02:54 as well. Talk of Calvin Phillips, I mean, I think the player wants to remain and fight for his
02:58 place, but four games in the season, hasn't played a single minute once again. I don't know. I don't
03:05 know on that one, really. I wouldn't be surprised if City are willing to let him go. And then just
03:10 two others to mention, the Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva, expect both of those to stay.
03:14 City growing increasingly confident that Kyle Walker is going to stay despite interest from
03:17 Bayern Munich and Silva. Yeah, I mean, I think he's going to stay as well. City were
03:22 always going to get a big, big bid for him to be allowed to leave. That was never really
03:26 forthcoming. And obviously a lot of talk now that he is going to sign a new contract with City. So
03:30 yeah, I'm not expecting a huge amount to happen in the final days of the window, but I think the
03:34 only other thing I should probably add is obviously the transfer for Lucas Piqueta is off. And it was
03:39 real interest from City. I think that at one stage that looked very likely to happen. It's now off.
03:43 I just think it would be interesting to see if City do go into the market for another midfielder
03:47 as well as Doku. But again, I think that would be it really. I think Doku, potentially a midfielder,
03:52 and that would probably be it for City. And we'll obviously, yeah, be covering all of
03:56 Manchester world. So yeah, plenty happening.
