00:02 So I said that the Yankees were going to pretty soon
00:05 drop off from being a story.
00:08 And I think if they lose two out of three to Boston here,
00:12 we're probably not talking about it.
00:14 But now they are in the middle of what,
00:16 or maybe the middle, maybe the end we'll see,
00:19 of their longest losing streak since 1995,
00:22 eight games in a row.
00:24 And it's one thing when you lose two out of three
00:26 at Miami, right?
00:28 You get swept by Atlanta, welcome to the party.
00:31 But for the longest losing streak for the Yankees to have
00:34 and since 1995 to come at the hands of Boston
00:38 in their own building, this is a low point.
00:42 This is indefensible.
00:44 And for the Yankees and for Aaron Boone,
00:47 for a while there were a lot of frustrations
00:49 around this ball club DRS.
00:51 That when you put them into context,
00:54 it's like, ah, maybe we're exaggerating.
00:56 They're above 500.
00:58 They're only two, three back of an AL wildcard spot.
01:01 Yeah, they're in last place in the AL East,
01:03 but come on, everybody's above 500.
01:05 No, no, no, no, no.
01:06 The Yankees are now 60 and 64.
01:09 And a team that if you see on your schedule,
01:11 you go, ooh, we got ourselves a chance,
01:14 or, oh, we're about to beat this team up.
01:16 Because this team was beat up in the series,
01:18 make no mistake about it.
01:19 Eight three on Friday, eight one on Saturday,
01:22 and then a blown save on Sunday.
01:25 Gut punch after gut punch year from the Boston Red Sox.
01:29 An embarrassment unquestionably.
01:32 And I, and Cashman's not going to do it.
01:35 And I don't know if the Yankees will do it,
01:37 because Boone probably deserves better.
01:39 And also, not all of this is Aaron Boone's fault.
01:42 But an in-season fire wouldn't surprise me.
01:46 This is unacceptable,
01:47 what we are seeing from the New York Yankees.
01:50 - It is.
01:50 I don't think he's gonna get fired in-season,
01:52 though that'll probably be done after the season.
01:54 But having said that about the Yankees themselves,
01:56 as long as you're not going up against Garrett Cole,
01:57 I think every other major league baseball team right now
01:59 is just licking their chops of what that second,
02:01 third, fourth, or fifth pitcher will actually be.
02:04 And also a bullpen that we expected so much more out of,
02:06 certainly not performing.
02:08 But the simple fact of the matter is,
02:09 when you're still in the dog days of August,
02:11 with a legitimate chance to make the wild card,
02:13 and you come up this lame,
02:15 that's an indictment of the entire organization,
02:17 top to bottom, from ownership to general manager,
02:19 to manager, and right to the players themselves.
02:22 There's no reason for that.
02:23 There's no reason that's playing
02:24 at least 500 baseball right now,
02:26 but just to absolutely bottom out with no care.
02:28 And again, popping on Yankee games,
02:30 like, "Oh man, you know, it's tough.
02:32 You know, Jake Bowers, three of his last 18."
02:34 I say, "Well, Jake Bowers should be like
02:35 your 12th player on your roster,
02:37 getting every spot performances.
02:39 And he's turning out to be, I don't know,
02:41 batting between one, two, three, four, or five
02:43 in your lineup every night."
02:45 That's the problem with the Yankees.
02:46 It's Aaron Judge and everybody else.
02:48 And Aaron Judge isn't carrying this team this year.
02:50 And that's the issue.
02:52 So we'll see next year, but it's also not like,
02:53 "Hey, you know what?
02:54 We really dug ourselves in here.
02:56 We fired away some salary.
02:58 We packed it away."
02:59 It's the second highest payroll in baseball,
03:01 and they stink right now.
03:02 So it's not as if it's like, "Hey, you know what?
03:04 We saved money last two years to get our prospects up."
03:06 Like, no, you spend a ton of money,
03:08 you're getting zero back on your investment.
