00:10 Sometimes feelings can be obvious.
00:12 Other times they may not be.
00:14 This can make you question
00:16 whether somebody has romantic feelings for you.
00:18 The old age question here is,
00:20 is this person flirting with me
00:22 because they have feelings for me
00:24 or are they simply being friendly?
00:26 Knowing the subtle differences
00:27 can save you the dreaded embarrassment.
00:30 So how do you know when people are hiding their feelings?
00:33 Before we begin,
00:34 please note that this video
00:35 is purely for educational purposes only

00:39 that if people do show these signs
00:40 that they definitely have feelings for you.
00:43 It's best to talk to the person in question
00:45 and discuss this to make sure that you're on the same page.
00:48 After all, communication is key.
00:51 With that in mind,
00:52 here are nine signs
00:53 that somebody may be hiding their feelings for you.
00:56 Number one, they will pay you a lot of attention.
01:00 Are they regularly inviting you out,
01:02 constantly calling and texting you
01:03 and asking your friends about you?
01:05 If the answer is yes,
01:07 then it appears that there is already
01:08 a foundational relationship that has been established.
01:11 The best indicator of a crush, love,
01:14 or attraction is attention.
01:16 What a person does and how they act around you
01:19 explains everything you need to know.
01:21 The key is to observe with your eyes
01:24 and not just with your heart.
01:25 Number two, their body language
01:27 will be different around you.
01:29 Do you often notice them facing
01:30 and leaning towards you when they talk to you?
01:33 Are their gestures open, relaxed, and welcoming?
01:36 You've probably heard before that the body doesn't lie.
01:39 So if you want to know how you can tell
01:41 if someone likes you or not,
01:43 pay close attention to what this person's body language
01:45 is telling you.
01:46 A relaxed and open body posture around you
01:49 generally shows that the person is okay
01:51 with being vulnerable around you
01:52 and trusts you enough to let you into their comfort zone.
01:55 It can be a sign of trust, respect,
01:57 and oftentimes even care.
01:59 Just make sure that you don't confuse romantic interest
02:01 with shyness because shyness doesn't necessarily
02:04 indicate romantic attraction.
02:06 Number three, pay attention to their eye contact
02:09 and nonverbal communication.
02:11 Do you notice them looking at you more often?
02:13 Are they extra cheerful or smile frequently
02:16 and talk more than usual when with you?
02:19 The next time you're with the person in question,
02:21 note how often they look at you.
02:23 Harvard psychologist, Zik Rubin,
02:25 found a correlation between eye contact and love.
02:28 In his study, couples deeply in love
02:30 look at one another 75% of the time while talking,
02:34 while other people engaged in conversation
02:36 only look at each other about 30 to 60% of the time.
02:39 If they want to leave a good, long-lasting impression
02:42 by sounding enthusiastic, inquisitive, and jolly,
02:44 it's a dead giveaway that this person likes your company
02:47 and cares about your impression of them.
02:49 So it's imperative to try and figure out
02:51 if they are putting in a lot of effort.
02:53 This could be a sign that this person is into you.
02:55 Number four, they'll do things to show that they care.
02:59 Do they text you or call you after you spend time together
03:02 to make sure you got home safe?
03:04 Do they regularly ask your friends about you?
03:06 Do they offer to help you without you asking them first?
03:09 Their interest in your wellbeing may be another sign
03:12 that they care about you and how you're doing or feeling.
03:15 However, these subtle things could easily be confused
03:18 with a caring friend as well.
03:19 But if you find that they'll go out of their way
03:21 to check in with you, then it is possible
03:24 that they have a crush on you or have feelings for you.
03:27 Number five, they may be overly curious about you.
03:30 Do you find them asking you questions
03:32 about you and your life?
03:33 Do you find that they want to know more about you
03:35 and what makes you who you are?
03:38 People who are trying to get to know others
03:40 may be hiding their feelings behind their burning curiosity.
03:43 It might be so that they can communicate in your language
03:46 and talk about the things you enjoy talking about.
03:49 Asking you a lot of questions essentially intends
03:51 to encourage you to talk about yourself
03:53 and open up about your life.
03:55 This is a basic human technique
03:56 that most of us use on a daily basis,
03:59 perhaps without even knowing it.
04:01 They would ask questions subliminally
04:03 and often without awareness with the intention
04:05 of developing more of a relationship with you.
04:07 Number six, they may offer you compliments and affection.
04:11 Do they compliment on your looks, clothing style,
04:13 taste in music and so on?
04:15 Do compliments mean anything at all?
04:18 Attitude plays a huge role
04:19 in whether a person likes you or not
04:21 when it comes to relationships.
04:23 So pay close attention to how a person communicates to you.
04:26 It's important to say that we should not assume
04:28 that just because somebody compliments you,
04:30 that means that they like you in a romantic way.
04:33 However, it also doesn't mean
04:34 that if somebody doesn't compliment you,
04:36 that they aren't into you or that they don't like you.
04:38 Some people just don't know how to compliment
04:40 or might not feel comfortable doing so.
04:42 However, if you notice
04:44 that they may be complimenting you excessively,
04:47 that may be a sign that a person is interested in you
04:49 because they want you to feel good.
04:51 This person wants you to like them
04:53 and give them the validation that they crave.
04:55 The person in question may be investing in you
04:57 and wants you to feel secure and comfortable around them.
05:00 Number seven, they may act unusual around you.
05:04 Have they ever stumbled over their words
05:06 or become tense or nervous when you show up?
05:09 Do they tell awkward jokes
05:10 or even pull away suddenly and unexpectedly?
05:13 These are actually counterintuitive signs
05:16 that someone likes you.
05:17 Dating expert, Matthew Hussey,
05:19 states that people will act differently around you
05:21 than they do with other people.
05:23 You may even notice that their energy levels will go up
05:25 when they're around you.
05:27 Number eight, they may show off in front of you.
05:30 Do they try and stand out in a crowd when you're together?
05:33 Another way to tell if someone secretly likes you
05:35 is to look at their behavior.
05:37 This could be down to two things,
05:39 high ego or their feelings for you.
05:41 To find out which it is,
05:43 be aware of the way this person communicates to you.
05:46 Do you get the feeling that they're eyeing you
05:47 for a positive reaction and is trying to impress you?
05:51 Are you the only person they do this to?
05:53 If yes, then the person may be interested
05:55 in wanting to get to know you romantically
05:57 and share their feelings with you.
05:59 And number nine, they'll find excuses
06:01 to spend time alone with you.
06:03 Do they ask to make plans with you
06:05 where it's just you and them?
06:07 Or do you often find them agreeing to everyday adventures
06:09 with just the two of you?
06:11 When a person has feelings for someone,
06:13 they would want to spend most of their time with them.
06:15 As this could present itself with romantic opportunities.
06:18 They may suggest hanging out after school
06:20 or ask for some help with work.
06:22 So when you suspect that someone likes you
06:24 and you like them back, set up a date,
06:27 invite them out and see what happens next.
06:29 You'll quickly understand how emotionally invested
06:32 this person is in you and decide
06:33 whether you wanna pursue a relationship with them.
