A 17-year-old boy from Liverpool has been deemed "dangerous" by a judge and jailed for shooting another man and firearms offences. Joel Harvey, of Croxteth, was given a 15-year sentence. He must serve 12 and a half years in prison and a further two and a half years on licence.

A rare tree kangaroo has been born at Chester zoo and now the joey has been seen emerging from its mother's pouch. Conservationists say the birth is a huge step forward for the Goodfellow's tree kangaroo conservation breeding programme, which is working to protect this highly threatened species from extinction.
