Singapore has come under international criticism over its continued use of the death penalty and the frequency of executions this year. The latest unofficial figures cite 10 executions in 2022 so far—all for drug offences—and is the most number of hangings since 2018. In recent years, only four countries have carried out executions for drug-related offences. Will Singapore change its position on the death penalty?
