John LoPinto is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of a private equity firm in New York City, New York, with over 20 years of experience. He loves to explore the financial side of business and is particularly interested in the startups and small businesses that come to his firm for potential investments. He is committed to finding the best opportunities to back so that his stakeholders are in good hands.
Though he has an interest in private equity, John’s true passion lies in being a strong leader both within and outside of his business. He always wants to lead by example because there are few ways to build a strong relationship with employees otherwise. As a leader, John aims to show people the way forward by example rather than the spoken word. He also takes the time to listen to his employees’ ideas for improvement and give each one of them respect, as he believes there’s no better way to run a team.
John LoPinto understands that the private equity business isn’t always an easy one, often leading to high-stress situations and tough decisions, and because of this, he doesn’t expect perfection out of his employees. He treats each of them as adults who are able to make choices that they believe are right. If a team member is experiencing a higher than normal stress level, he makes sure to check in on them and support them however he can; it’s important to John that his team is happy and healthy so that they remain strong and productive.
John has high hopes for his business’ future and is excited to see where it’ll go over the next few years. Currently, John LoPinto is working on strengthening and growing his team as well as looking for additional opportunities to take ahold of. Though he has large goals, he makes sure that he stays grounded both for the health of his business and that of his team. By keeping a positive attitude and outlook while acknowledging the reality of a situation, John is able to make the best decisions possible for his business.
John LoPinto is also an avid sports lover. He particularly loves the Mets and tries to go to a game whenever he has time. While he loves watching baseball and football, he's active in sports as well. John coaches his children's sports teams, namely soccer, and always tries to make time to go outside and practice with them. He believes in setting a good example both professionally and personally, creating a bond built on respect and trust. This has helped him raise his kids in a loving and supportive way, and he hopes to continue being part of their athletic careers in the future.
