Hi, Striator with the fastest and most reliable way to do the mail method. By sending mail to other players on your island, you can take presents from the mail as much as you want. My method beats other methods as I can get 40 presents reliably in 3 minutes with no chance of failure. All you need for this are the items you want to copy, 3 characters on your island, and 2 sets of controllers separate from the console. This updated video replaces time travelling with entering Resident Services and waiting for the autosave timer, and makes it clearer how often you can repeat this and when you can quit.

tl;dw (too long; didn't watch, but you should really watch)
You need:
2 controllers - pair of Joycons in single Joycon mode works, Switch Lite controls don't count
3 accounts and 3 characters (you only use 2 characters but you need the 3rd to exist, if you're sharing an account across multiple Switches you also need to be using the primary Switch)
1-40 items you want copies of
Mail setup:
1. Mail 1-40 items to the character you want copies on (you only need to do this once)
2. Start co-op mode, pick receiving character
3. Switch to receiving character
4. Enter Resident Services, wait for 3-minute autosave
5. Leave, check mailbox for mail (do not take presents), exit mailbox
5a. If you can't get the Resident Services method to work, time travel forward a day
Main method:
1. Start co-op mode, switch to receiving character (if you have not done so already)
2. Wait for 3-minute autosave in front of mailbox (start timer when autosave happens)
2a. You can delay autosave by opening a menu, 3-minute timer won't start until you close it
3. Take all the presents
4. Switch to sending character
5. Pick residents again, pick receiving character
6. Switch to receiving character
7a. If you have enough time/inventory space, repeat steps 3-6 again
7b. Stop at this point if time is up, inventory is full, or you just want to stop. Go empty inventory, do other things, take a break, or end session to quit
8. When you're ready to get more presents, go to step 2
9. If you quit and want to restart, start from step 1. If you want to send more mail you need to do mail setup again
