Euro New car Assessment Programme, better known as Euro NCAP, is an independent organization in Brussels for testing and assessing new cars. The latest series of tests found several cars with the top score of five stars. At the top the new Opel Astra, which even rated 96% for the passenger saftey which was only topped by one point by the Chevrolet Cruze. Mercedes E-Class and the new GLK, VW Scirocco an BMW X1 were awarded five stars as well as Citroen C3, Mazda 3, Peugeot 5008 or the brandnew Infiniti FX which was rated top of the line 99% for its "electronic safety systems".
