A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 74-year-old man in the Abington area of Northampton. Officers were called to a house in Lindsay Avenue just after 2am on Saturday, September 26. At the scene, it was apparent that David Brickwood had been violently assaulted. Officers performed emergency first aid in an attempt to save his life, but sadly he later died at Northampton General Hospital. A major incident room has now been set up to investigate Mr Brickwood’s death, which police are treating as murder.
