Entire Cotswold village re-created in miniature

An iconic model village has become the first in the country to be awarded Grade II listed status by English Heritage. The 9:1 replica of pretty Bourton-on-the-Water, Glos., has been recognised for its "rarity, craftsmanship and historical value". Eight local builders spent five years crafting the miniature world using authentic materials including locally-quarried limestone and miniature Cotswold stone slates. They officially opened the attraction in 1937 and it became only the second of its kind in Britain.
