Jim Starlin started his legendary comics career as both writer-artist with Marvel Comics in 1972, but his earlier work in fanzines shown a buddening talent that is very much worth seeing. Toward the end of his pre-Marvel fanzine run, we see themes that he brings to his Marvel Cosmic Saga, especially with Drax the Destroyer and the Cosmic Entity of Death.
