Palestine: 2015, Year of International Recognition

Under the stewardship of President Mahmoud Abbas, Palestine obtained important international recognition in 2015. In January, Palestine applied for membership in Interpol, the international police organization. In April, Palestine became a member of the International Court of Justice, which will allow it to present claims against Israel for war crimes.
