The Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) electoral monitoring mission present in Venezuela to observe the lead-up to and vote on December 6, called for an investigation into the killing of Democratic Action candidate Luis Manuel Diaz earlier this week. The regional body said that thus far the electoral campaign has been peaceful and hoped that Diaz' killing would be an isolated incident. teleSUR
