Chavez defeated all destabilizing attempts by Venezuela's elite

On April 11, 2002, the Venezuelan right-wing opposition attempted to halt the progress of the Bolivarian Revolution by staging a coup d´état against the legitimate and democratically elected government of Hugo Chavez. Two days later, however, thanks to the unity of the Venezuelan people and the country's armed forces, Chavez returned to his post as president and was always able to defeat any and all destabilizing attempts by the far right. teleSUR
