00:04declared Saturday that the M-pox infection,
00:07formerly known as monkeypox,
00:09no longer represents a global public health emergency,
00:12following a sustained decrease in cases
00:14in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
00:17We also have a better understanding
00:19of the drivers of transmission,
00:21the risk factors for severity,
00:24and the most affected countries
00:26have developed a sustained response capacity.
00:29Of course, lifting the emergency declaration
00:32does not mean the threat is over,
00:35nor that our response will stop.
00:37The possibility of continued flare-ups
00:40and new outbreaks remains,
00:42requiring adequate surveillance and response capacity.
00:46Ongoing efforts are needed to protect
00:49the most vulnerable groups,
