Interior ministers from thirteen western nations met in Paris ahead of the march. They looked at ways to step up their efforts to combat terrorism. Of particular concern is the danger posed by Western citizens returning from Islamist combat in Iraq and Syria. The ministers also want to do more to prevent radicalization of citizens within Europe.
