Synopsis Dans la forêt des Landes, en Gironde, un groupe de cowboys à fort accent Gascon évoluent dans un paysage de Far-West reconstitué. Un indien, un vrai, se trouve là, et fait tournoyer des cerceaux de couleurs dans une étrange danse rituelle. D'autres, à l'allure à peine moins authentique, bivouaquent dans les bois. Du saloon à la prairie, les colts frémissent et les regards ferraillent. À la frontière entre utopie et spectacle, entre récit historique et pure fiction, ces hommes et ces femmes se livrent à un jeu de rôle ambigu: jusqu'où le faux, à partir de quant le vrai?
In the Landes forest of Gironde, in south-west France, a group of cowboys with thick Gascon accents go about a recreated Far-West landscape. A genuine Native American is thee too, spinning around coloured hoops in some strange ritual dance. Others, looking almost as authentic, are bivouacking in the woods. From saloon to prairie, colts are quivering and eyes are darting. Somewhere in between utopia and entertainment, historical tale and pure fiction, these men and women are involved in ambiguous role-play:to what extent is it fake, and when does it start to be real?
