Almost 1,000 health experts and policy makers recently gathered at the inaugural World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) in Doha. On the sidelines of the two-day summit, Olivia Salazar Winspear met Oman’s Health Minister, Ahmed Bin Mohammed al Saidi.
Ahmed Bin Mohammed al Saidi explains how in 1970, Oman had a poorly developed healthcare system, with only two hospital beds and a life expectancy under 50. Now, 40 years later, the state of Oman’s healthcare system has greatly improved, with more than 6,000 doctors and 60 hospitals.
