Prepare for a serious upgrade! Russia's Rostec has just delivered a new batch of modernized BREM-80 armored recovery vehicles, just in time for Defender of the Fatherland Day.
Built on the robust T-80 tank chassis by Uralvagonzavod, the BREM-80 is the ultimate battlefield handyman. It's designed to haul in damaged armor, clear stubborn obstacles, and keep repair operations rolling, even under fire.
Rostec highlighted key improvements in this latest version, focusing on enhanced crew protection. A new mechanized coupling system means damaged vehicles can be hooked up and towed without crews needing to leave their safe haven. Plus, powerful hydraulic winches and a bulldozer blade make debris clearing and vehicle stabilization a breeze.
Under the hood, it shares the T-80's gas-turbine engine, ensuring impressive mobility and fast starts, even in the iciest conditions. Rostec even claims the BREM-80 can pull heavier loads than Russia's main battle tanks, reportedly demonstrated in 2018 by towing six T-80 tanks simultaneously!
