Russian Tu-95MS strategic bombers carried out a flight lasting approximately five hours over the Barents and Norwegian seas, with Kh-101 cruise missiles visible under their wings.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the aircraft remained over international waters and were escorted by Russian Navy Su-33 fighter jets. During the mission, two Norwegian Air Force F-35As were scrambled to identify and monitor the bombers.

In the video, we show footage released from the operation and explain why the presence of the Kh-101 missiles is significant, as well as the role of the Tu-95MS in Russia’s strategic aviation.
