00:20your own kids coloring book and then sell it on Amazon I'll walk you through

00:24every step from generating the images designing the pages to publishing and

00:28marketing your book and trust me you are going to be amazed at how simple and

00:33fun this can be I'm Brian from website learners and let's get started

00:40we're going to create a coloring book for kids in just two parts the first part is

00:45to design the coloring book to do that we are going to do four steps the first

00:49step is to find a theme for your coloring book you might have a few ideas in your

00:53mind of what kind of coloring book that you want to create but it is important

00:57to pick a theme that is currently selling well on Amazon this increases the

01:01chances of your book being successful so if you're not sure of what type of

01:05coloring book will be popular don't worry there's an easy way to find out just go

01:10to Amazon search for kids coloring book and you will find a variety of coloring book

01:17designs that people are selling to find the best theme for your coloring book there

01:22are two things that you need to check first the total number of sales the

01:25product has made and the second one is the total number of reviews it has received we

01:30can go through these books and we can see that this particular book has the

01:33highest sales and reviews if you want you can also get more details like the

01:37total number of orders they make per day and the overall revenue to get this

01:41information easily there's a Chrome extension called seller app which

01:45displays all the information directly on the Amazon page to get it go to the Chrome

01:50store search for seller app and add this extension once you have done that go to

02:59let's enter that then select the age group of the kids that you are creating the

03:05book for and the number of images you want I'm going to enter 12 and click

03:10create content you can see that we have got the prompts to generate the images

03:15once you've got the prompts let's generate the images for the coloring book to

03:19do that just copy the prompt then click on this AI image generator tool and you

03:29will get this tool where you can generate the images now paste the prompt that we

03:33copied earlier and then here you need to change a few settings first click here

03:39and set the aspect ratio as landscape then select the style of the image I'm

03:47going to choose design because it will create images in an illustration style once

03:52you have everything click generate image it has generated the image exactly how we

03:58want it it has both the colored image and the black and white outline for the

04:01kids to color if you want to try some more styles just go to advanced option and

04:08try changing the models and the style that you want I will go with this image

04:12so let's download it by clicking here and the image will be downloaded to your

04:17computer in the same way you can generate all the remaining images okay once

04:23you have generated the images for your coloring book next let's create an eye

04:27catching cover image for our book to grab our customers an engine quickly so

04:31let's go to the next step which is to create the cover image for a coloring book

04:34to create the cover image we need to get the prompt just like we did before go

04:38back to gravity right then search for book cover image click on it and you will

04:46get this tool now to create the cover image you need to answer these questions

04:49first enter the title of your book then enter a short summary of what your book is

04:52about and the name of the author once you're done click create content and you can

04:59see we have got the prompts for a cover image you can go through them and copy

05:04the one you like then go to the image generator tab and place the prompt here

05:12now click here select the aspect ratio as portrait and click generate you can see

05:25that we have got a cover image it has the title author's name and the colorful images of animals

05:31amazing right you can download it by clicking here and this is how you can create the cover image for

05:40your coloring book okay now we have the cover image and images for our book next we need to

05:45combine all these images and design the pages to create a coloring book so let's go to the final

05:50step which is to design the pages of our coloring book to do that just click the link in the

05:54description and it'll take you to this page with canva you can easily design the pages of your book

05:59and add the text to make them look good to design the pages we're gonna do three steps the first step

06:05is to set the size of the pages for our coloring book to do that click on create a design and here

06:12we can set the size of our page Amazon accepts coloring books which are 8.5 by 11 inches so to set the same size

06:18click here and change the units to inches then enter the width as 8.5 and the height as 11 and click on

06:29create new design you can see that we have got a blank page with the size that we selected once

06:36you're done we can now go to the next step which is to upload the images that we generated to do that

06:40go to uploads then select all the images drag and drop them here and they will be uploaded once

06:52you're done let's go to the final step which is to design the coloring book pages now let's start

06:56designing the first page of our coloring book to do that we'll need to add the image of the page so

07:01just click on the image and it will be added here once you've added the image you can see we have got

07:07the colored image and the outline together but if you look at the sample page we have got the colored

07:12image at the top and the outline at the center this is done so that kids can use the colored image as a

07:16reference while they can color the outline to design a page like this first we have to duplicate this

07:22image right click on the image then click on duplicate you can see that we have got the copy of

07:29the image now let's place the colored image in the corner of the page like this to do that click here

07:33and crop the image once it is cropped add the color image to the corner and it's done in the same way

07:42you can crop this image too and keep only the outline so let's crop it now to place the image in the

07:50center just drag the dot in the corner like this to enlarge the image and it's done next let's add the

07:59name of the animal here like this to do that click on the text option then choose the style you want

08:07i will choose this one and it will be added here now enter the name of the animal then drag and drop

08:14it here and it's done if you want you can change the font size just click here choose the font size you

08:21want and it will be changed also if you want you can also change the color of the text and even add effects

08:27to it and i am going to choose this effect okay we have designed the first page of a coloring book in

08:36the same way you can design the remaining pages just remember when you publish your coloring book on

08:41amazon you must have a minimum of 24 pages and a maximum of 80 pages so you can create as many pages as

08:47you need within that particular range all right let's design the next pages just click on add page

08:53now since we are making a coloring book we'll leave one side of each page blank to avoid color smudging

09:00so that kids can color without worrying about color smudging on the other side and the coloring pages

09:05will be on the right side and on the left side it will be a blank page like this so we will leave

09:10this as a blank page now click on add page again and design this page just like we did for the first page

09:17all right we have all the pages for our coloring book ready

09:21and it looks great right to download this book just click share

09:28click download then click here and make sure you change the format to pdf standard

09:36click download

09:39and the coloring book will be downloaded

09:43okay so now we have successfully completed creating the coloring book

09:47and once you have created the coloring book you can go ahead and publish it on amazon

09:50so next let's go to the second part of this video which is to publish the coloring book on amazon

09:55so we are going to do this in just three simple steps

09:58the first step is to create an account on amazon kdp

10:01now kdp is a self-publishing platform by amazon that allows authors and content creators to publish their coloring books

10:06and other types of books on amazon for free

10:09so to create an account on amazon kdp just click the link below this video

10:13and it will take you to this page now click join kdp

10:16enter these details

10:18and click create

10:20it will take you to the kdp dashboard

10:24which means we have successfully created an account

10:27on amazon kdp

10:28once you have created an account we can now go to the second step

10:31which is to add the details of our coloring book

10:33so let's click create

10:34and it will ask you to choose any one of these options

10:38since we are creating a coloring book

10:40we will choose paperback

10:41so that when a customer purchases a book

10:43amazon will print a book and deliver it to our customer

10:45so let's click on create paperback

10:47to publish a coloring book on amazon

10:51we need to enter all the details of the book

10:53and complete these three sections one by one

10:55first section is the paperback details

10:57this is where we have to enter all the details of our coloring book

11:01if you need any help in writing these details

11:03there is an ai tool that can automatically generate all the details of your book

11:06just click the link in the description

11:08and you will be taken to this tool

11:10here you just need to enter a short description of your book

11:12and click create content

11:16you can see that it has generated all the details required for our book

11:21like the title

11:22description

11:23and the keywords

11:25first let's copy the title

11:28then go back to this tab

11:30and paste it here

11:33scroll down

11:37and enter the name of the author

11:39then we will add the description that we've got from gravity write

11:44once you're done

11:56here you need to select whether you have the copyrights for your coloring book

11:58since we have used all our own content to create a coloring book

12:01let's choose this option

12:03then choose no here

12:05because we have created images only related to animals and pets

12:08now select the age group of kids

12:11once that is done

12:19next you need to select a category for your coloring book

12:22to make it easier to list when you publish on amazon

12:25if you click on this button and click here

12:27you will see a variety of categories to choose from

12:30i am going to choose children's book as my main category

12:32then click here

12:35and select a relevant subcategory

12:38i will go with activities crafts and games

12:41in the same way

12:43pick any additional subcategory that fits your book

12:45after that

12:51select the type of your coloring book

12:53whether it's fiction or non-fiction

12:55if your coloring book is based on imaginary stories

12:57you can choose fiction

12:58or if it is based on real facts and events

13:01or educational content

13:02then you need to choose non-fiction

13:04i am going to choose non-fiction

13:06once you're done

13:09click on save categories

13:10now finally

13:13it will ask you to enter the keywords for your book

13:15so whenever a visitor searches for your keywords

13:17your book will show up in the search results

13:19to add the keywords here

13:21go back to this tab

13:22then copy and paste all the keywords one by one

13:27and once you have done that

13:36click save and continue

13:37and you can see

13:40we have saved all the details for our coloring book

13:41once you have completed the first section

13:43we can now go to the next section

13:45which is the paperback content

13:46where we can upload our coloring book

13:48before we do that

13:49first we need to get the ISBN number for our book

13:52an ISBN is a unique ID number

13:54assigned to a book

13:55which sellers and distributors can use to search for their book

13:58it will look like this

13:59so to get an ISBN number for our book

14:01click here

14:02then click assign ISBN

14:04and click on this button

14:08you can see we have got the ISBN number

14:12just copy it

14:13and save it to your notepad for future reference

14:15once you have got the ISBN number

14:17next we have to select how we want to print our coloring book

14:20so first we will select the ink and the type of paper we want

14:23so I'm going to choose premium color interior with white paper

14:26and here you can see the reference image of how it will look like

14:29then click here

14:31select the size of your book

14:33then you can choose what kind of finish you want for your paperback cover

14:38whether you want it to be matte or glossy

14:40I'm going to choose glossy

14:42and once you have done that

14:46let's upload our coloring book

14:47to do that

14:48click upload manuscript

14:50then select your coloring book

14:52and click open

14:54you can see that we have uploaded our coloring book

14:58next we have to upload a book cover

15:00if you already have a book cover ready

15:02you can choose this option and then upload it

15:05we only have the cover image ready

15:06so let's click launch cover creator

15:08now here we need to upload the cover image that we created earlier

15:13click on my computer

15:15then select the color image

15:17and click open

15:19you can see that

15:21it has created four different variations of our book cover

15:24this one looks good

15:25so let's click on it

15:26now if you want

15:28you can also customize the book cover

15:29for example

15:30to adjust the front cover image

15:32just zoom in or zoom out as needed

15:34and in the same way

15:35you can edit the back cover too

15:37so let's say you want to add your image here

15:39all you have to do is

15:40just click on it

15:41then upload the image from your computer

15:44and it will be added here

15:49now to change this text

15:50just click on it

15:51enter the text you want

15:54and it will be changed

15:56in the same way

15:57you can change the other text

15:58once you're done

16:03now if you click preview

17:00if you click on this arrow button

17:01you will see the coloring pages

17:03so just take all the pages

17:06and make sure everything looks good

17:07once you have done

17:16just click approve

17:17and it will take you back to this page

17:20here you can see all the printing details for your book

17:23including the printing cost

17:24which is $4.20 per book

17:26now click save and continue

17:28and that's it

17:31we have successfully uploaded our coloring book

17:33once you have come back to the second section

17:35let's move on to the last section

17:37which is to set the selling price for our book

17:39to set the selling price

17:40go here

17:42enter the price you want to sell your book for

17:44for example

17:45if we set the price as $15

17:47you will see the detailed breakdown

17:51of how much Amazon will deduct

17:53and how much profit you will get

17:54so from $15

17:55first Amazon will take a 40% as they share

17:58then from the remaining 60%

18:00$4.20 will be deducted for printing

18:03and the amount that remains

18:04will be your profit

18:05which is $4.80

18:07this is the royalty amount

18:09that you will receive

18:10for each sale your book gets on Amazon

18:12okay

18:13so now we have successfully set the price

18:15for our coloring book

18:15and once you have set the price

18:17you can get a printed copy of your coloring book

18:19to check for any printing errors

18:21and see that if everything is fine

18:23before it goes live

18:24so to get the printed copy of your book

18:26just click request proof

18:30then select your marketplace

18:33and click submit proof request

18:49now if you click confirm proof request

18:51we will be taken back to this page

18:56it is asking us to complete our account information

18:58to publish our coloring book on Amazon

19:00to complete it

19:01just click here

19:02sign in with your Amazon account

19:06and it will take you to this page

19:09now enter all these details

19:11click save and continue

19:17and choose the location of your bank

19:20and then here you need to enter the bank details

19:24where you want to receive the payments

19:26first select your business type

19:28I am going to leave it as individual

19:29enter your account details

19:31and then here we need to add our address

19:37just click on this button

19:38you will see the address
