00:00Hi, he is a Chinese guy born in Indonesia. He came to this country I'm going to say about 25
00:11years ago. He's now a United States citizen, but he's been making sculpture since he was a child.
00:17It's an innate ability. He's never had an art lesson in his life. Yeah, it's just amazing to
00:27go somewhere and see him. He sees something completely different than what what you're
00:31looking at. So about 12 years ago, he's always done mixed media and sculpture, tried the pencils
00:38and people love them. So the pencils now have just been evolving for the past 12 years. He
00:45draws the faces freehand and they're charcoal on wood. The eyes are an oil pastel and the backgrounds
00:52are typically acrylic, although sometimes he does watercolor. And then he hand cuts and places
00:57each pencil. That's how it works. Some of them he does the rhinestones and on the end of the pencils

01:10And he also does these cards. These cards here are based on original pieces of artwork that he's done
01:21through the years. And that actually can go through the mail for $20 makes a wonderful gift, but can
01:28also be displayed in shadow box like we have over here on the back wall. And that's how they work.
