UK: Two policewomen shot dead in Manchester

Two unarmed policewomen have been killed in a gun and grenade attack in northern England.

PC Nicola Hughes (23) and PC Fiona Bone (32), had been investigating a burglary in Mottram, Tameside, near Manchester, when they were gunned down.

One of the officers died at the scene and another died later in hospital.
