On the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Al Qaeda has confirmed for the first time the death of its deputy leader Abu Yahya al-Libi.
US officials said in June that they had killed Al Qaeda's second-in-command in a drone strike in north-west Pakistan.
Al Qaeda leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri, published a video on jihadist websites late on Monday in which he described Libi as a martyr.
