Five European nations and Japan ready to 'contribute' to securing Hormuz

00:13as the war with Iran continues to disrupt shipping.
00:16In a joint statement, countries including Britain, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan condemned attacks on commercial vessels.
00:24The statement did, however, not provide details on how they would help ensure safe passage through the waterway
00:31or the extent they would be willing to commit resources.
00:34Japanese Prime Minister Sanei Takeishi, whose country gets around 90% of its oil through the Strait,
00:40discussed the matter with US President Donald Trump on Friday.
00:57Limited traffic is continuing on a selective basis.
01:00Around 90 ships, including oil tankers, have crossed the waterway in the first two weeks of March.
