Falck is Europe's largest private emergency services provider. Run according to market-based business principles, the company is already market-leader in Denmark. Now Falck wants to expand in Germany.Germany's emergency services market is worth some 2 billion Euros, with about 90 percent of the work going to the major non-profit relief organizations. Private companies remain the exception. But a ruling by the European Court of Justice could open up the German market and Falck is poised to make the most of that opportunity. Grit Hofmann.
