Thai director wins Palme d'Or

He confounded the critics and wowed the jury. Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul has won the Palme d'Or at Cannes -- the prestigious film festival's highest honour -- for 'Uncle Boonmee who can Recall his Past Lives', a dreamlike, unconventional tale of love and loss.
