Hollywood heartthrob Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed the truth behind his name, his accent and his bathing routine.
The 29-year-old Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time star explained that his tricky surname is in fact pronounced YILL-EN-HOO-LA-HAY, an announcement that either ends years of speculation or causes even more confusion, depending on how seriously the actor's comments are taken.
The movie star also spilled the beans about his new-found muscles.
"First I grew the hair which took six months, then I would do was a daily rigourous exercise of bathing three to four times a day. So shampooing and conditioning, not a two-in-one, that's a secret that a lot of people don't know. Shampoo really works the biceps, then triceps I worked with conditioning. It works the abs too if you keep them clenched," said Jake.
Finally, there was controversy over the Los Angeles-born star's London accent in the film. Director Mike Newell said it was "kind of Dagenham", while co-star Sir Ben Kingsley claimed Jake's Prince is clearly from London's NW5 postal region. But Newell responded saying: "Sir Ben is utterly sweeet, but he doesn't know his London postal regions worth diddly s**t".
