00:00Equal in Harry Katterick's record and on the win.
00:03Perfect way to, certainly in terms of the result, to mark the occasion.
00:07Yeah, the win was the perfect way, certainly.
00:10Our performance wasn't probably as good as it's been,
00:14but sometimes you have to take it that way, and that's what we've done tonight.
00:17We got a result, dug it out, went a goal behind and came back well.
00:23So, pleased about that.
00:24Yeah, Coventry, obviously, if you feel that several VAR decisions went against them,
00:32such as the Tarkey pull on the hair, the penalty kick and Tierna Barry's second goal,
00:38what were your readings of them?
00:40Yeah, look, we've had plenty which have gone against us, if I'm being honest.
00:43We thought we'd won at Newcastle, but I'll try and answer them the best I can.
00:47It certainly doesn't hit his hand, I would take that for the goal.
00:50It doesn't hit his hand at all, that's for sure.
00:53I think the hair pull rules changed that it would be a booking, if it was.
00:58I think it's still ridiculous that that's even categorised as in that rules in the game.
01:03I just can't...
01:13And what was our bit of it, and it was the...
01:16Miko.
01:17Yeah.
01:18I'm going to be honest and say I've not hardly seen this here, Andy,
01:21but what I'm hearing is from a couple of people who are in there,
01:24said that it doesn't look anything like a penalty kick.
01:27So, that's the general bit of what I've got, yeah.
01:38Hi David, congratulations on the win.
01:40Tiano Barry's now got 10 goals for the season.
01:42Must be delighted with his progress.
01:45Fabulous.
01:46I've just mentioned in there, I says,
01:47Haaland's worried about him now catching him.
01:49So, that's what we've got, but I have to say that it's great for the boy
01:54because being a young centre-forward coming to the Premier League,
01:57if you look at the money a lot of cops have paid for big centre-forwards,
02:02we paid enough for him, but we took a little bit of a gamble and went early on him.
02:08I don't see many young centre-forwards scoring loads of goals in the Premier League.
02:13I'm sure you'll probably correct me somewhere when I'm wrong here,
02:17but he's come in and I think he's settled down a bit more.
02:20He's got his language, his understanding, his communication is much better as well
02:24and obviously he's worked hard to try and get himself into those positions to score.
02:30Obviously, Kieran missed out on the England squad against the table,
02:33producing a fantastic performance tonight.
02:34Yeah, Kieran's been playing really well and we spoke about it before the game
02:38and I thought, I think the best way to keep in the manager's mind is to score, play well.
02:44You know, you never know if England get a couple of injuries or anything changes
02:48and the other thing I think more importantly is desperate to play for England.
02:52So, I think sometimes when you're somebody who's really hungry to play and wants to do it,
02:58I think that's good as well.
02:59Just one more, Tyler Dibloom was handed a star tonight, what was the thing behind that change?
03:03What was that?
03:04Tyler Dibloom was handed a star tonight.
03:06Yeah, I thought Tyler's been training quite well so I thought it was right
03:08and, you know, we just felt that, you know, he was maybe the one who could get us.
03:13We thought we might get a little bit more of the ball at times and be able to use him.
03:20He got a little bit better near the end but we didn't really get into the game as much as
03:24I wanted to
03:24but neither did the team who has been on us for long periods.
03:28Chris?
03:29Yeah, just when you look at the league table now, you've sort of asked you this last year
03:33and I wonder, what would you, how would you balance the expectations that might now grow
03:38because it's the reality of where you think the team is?
03:42Look, there's me where I am at the age I'm at now.
03:47It's great if I can build the expectations at a club because it means that you're doing something right
03:51because you're doing well and you're driving it on.
03:54So, I don't mind building expectations but I think somewhere along the line someone will turn around
03:59and say, have you actually had a look to see the size of their squad and the players have got?
04:02I think maybe when you get to that point then you'd start saying, well, wait a minute,
04:06just calm yourself down a little bit.
04:09I'm not using it as an excuse.
04:10We're not using it as an excuse.
04:11I'm just telling you there could be around the corner, there could be other things which don't go for us
04:16and we have to find that but at the moment the boys are doing a brilliant job.
04:21They're performing well, they're at it, maybe not tonight but it wasn't that they weren't at it.
04:28I thought Coventry actually done a lot of good things and they've had a couple of really good results
04:32and they're in a pretty good run really, Coventry and where they are at the moment.
04:42Hi, David.
04:44Has the fact that the team has done so well at the start of the season changed anything for you
04:48in terms of your expectations for what they can achieve and you can achieve this season?
04:54I think my expectations changed probably during the window.
05:00I'm desperately trying to, what I'd say to the boys who know me well and I've been there,
05:05I don't think Everton are ever going to go and spend hundreds and hundreds of millions to improve
05:09so all I could try and do was how can I take a small progression a bit better every year.
05:16That felt as if it was going to be much harder but I have to say the players at the
05:21moment
05:21are doing a brilliant job in their league position.
05:24But I have to just put the other side to that to say, I said it in midweek,
05:28you lose at Newcastle and you lose tonight and you can find yourself down near the bottom.
05:32It's that tight.
05:33I think the league this year looks as if it's going to be like that.
05:47Hi David.
05:48Hi.
05:49There was a clip posted on Tieno Barry's Instagram this week
05:52and Tyreek George was saying that if he played 90 minutes, he will do something,
05:56whether that's creating chances or scoring goals.
05:59Although I'm sure he'd admit it wasn't his best game today.
06:03No, it wasn't.
06:03Would you say that second goal just shows that he's right maybe
06:07with the quality he had in that 1v1 situation to produce the game-winning assist for Barry?
06:12Yeah, I agree.
06:14I praised him when he came in for the cross he got
06:17because he wasn't really having a particularly great night.
06:21But he stuck at it and he got a moment.
06:24And, you know, there's a thing that comes up now,
06:26goal scorers and assist makers tonight, he's got an assist to his name tonight,
06:30which is really important, you know, building up assists.
06:33So, look, we like him.
06:34He's a young boy.
06:35He's had moments where he's shown really, really good stuff
06:39and bits where he's still got to learn and improve.
06:42So, that's it.
06:45But we like him a lot.
06:46We do.
06:47Okay, folks.
06:49Cheers.
