00:20One of the great things about football is that no one knows for sure what's going to happen.
00:25Let's see what unfolds here tonight.
00:27I'm Derek Ray, and ready with his tactics board alongside me is Stuart Robson, my commentary partner.
00:33And on the menu, an appetizing dish.
00:35A Conmebol Libertadores first group stage game.
00:38It's always ready, and they take on Estudiantes.
00:42Well, what an occasion it is for this club and its supporters.
00:45These are the games that they dream of.
00:47No doubt in there, the underdogs.
00:49But if they can frustrate their opponents, stay in the game up until halftime, you just never know.
00:53So hopefully we get a great cup tie, and maybe even a massive surprise.
01:08This is how it looks for the home side.
01:10Well, the wingers will be key here.
01:12They have to choose the right time to give width, and the right time to come infield to support the
01:17centre forward.
01:17If they can do that, they're a potent front three.
01:20No doubt about that.
01:38This is the line-up for the visitors today.
01:40Well, in this shape, if their wide players stay high up the pitch and get enough of the ball, it's
01:45a very attacking line-up.
01:47But if they drop too deep, they will then leave the centre forward isolated, and it could be difficult for
01:51them.
02:14So, the first half begins.
02:16Let's see what unfolds.
02:28Committed challenge.
02:33Torrico with it.
02:36Well, it's a move of promise.
02:43Nicely timed tackle.
02:51Carrillo.
02:55And a brisk run.
02:57Possession changes hands.
03:11Again, there are two intercepts.
03:25Medina.
03:26Medina.
03:33Well, they couldn't keep hold of it.
03:43Promising attack.
03:45And reddit splendidly.
03:50Torrico.
03:52Torrico.
03:55It's with Victor Rodriguez.
04:09Now, they stopped them in their tracks.
04:12Over the touchline for a throw-in.
04:16Carrillo.
04:16Carrillo.
04:22And they have possession again.
04:29Torrico with it.
04:31Plenty of support here.
04:33But really sticking to their task defensively.
04:44Carrillo.
04:46Now, possession problems.
04:57Well, really good footwork.
04:59What a joy to watch.
05:01Oh, fully stretched.
05:18It's a short one.
05:20Oh, they were in a decent position, too.
05:23Just read the situation so well, didn't they?
05:26And the successful ball win.
05:41And the keeper's technical skills, there for all to see.
05:45Well, from that close in, that's a really good save.
05:48Such good reflexes.
05:51Let's see about the delivery.
05:57Well, the move breaks down.
05:59Just the challenge that was required.
06:07Oh, big chance.
06:09And there it is.
06:11The breakthrough.
06:12That will do nicely.
06:31Well, here it is again.
06:32He goes past his markers so easily with just a drop of the shoulder.
06:35And there's certainly no doubt about the finish.
06:37He really hits it with power and accuracy.
06:39Nothing the keeper can do about that.
06:53So, the ball rolling again with the scoreline standing at 1-0.
07:07Useful position they're in.
07:11But they dealt with the threat posed.
07:18Torrico.
07:19Now, the electronic board showing one additional minute.
07:25And the managers will now deliver their halftime team talks.
07:29We're at the end of...
07:35We're at the end of the they sangat film.
07:40We're at the end of the day of the night.
07:48We have to stop them.
07:49No, they're at the end of the day.
07:51We can never do that.
07:51We can never do it.
08:00Like maybe.
08:44Well, they've got things going again here, and I wonder what kind of second half we have in store for
08:48us.
08:52And a good challenge to bring that attack to an end.
09:00Chances on.
09:04And a goal! To increase their advantage, it's a two-goal lead now.
09:22Well, first of all, where's the defender? They're all over the place, but give him some credit.
09:27That's a good finish. Great composure.
09:44So, two-nil now.
09:52Torrico.
09:53Torrico.
09:55An impressive run, but they took care of the situation defensively.
10:03Why not try it, if he can do it?
10:08And his teammate got him out of trouble.
10:17Torrico.
10:22And he's broken free.
10:30Well, opportunity missed just when we wondered if things were going to change for them.
10:35Well, this should have been a goal, and boy, do they need it.
10:50Well, that's how to keep the opposition at bay.
10:59And they might break quickly.
11:04Well, snuffed it out completely.
11:16And shifting infield, it's a promising run.
11:18Well, somehow, the goalkeeper got to it.
11:38Can someone get on the end of this?
11:44Couldn't quite keep it going.
12:03Oh, a superb save.
12:33He's driven in the corner.
12:35Immediate priority to clear the danger.
12:40Just lost the way there.
12:45And with that, the attack fizzles out.
12:49Now, counter-attacking possibilities.
12:54And let's give credit to the defending.
13:01Oh, that's a fine-looking pass.
13:05That's very decisive goalkeeping.
13:15Super tackle, and they've won possession.
13:24Almost saying to them, take it off me if you can.
13:29Massive opportunity.
13:31Well, there is a goalkeeper with a fine technique.
13:41Over it comes.
13:43Wonderful, last-ditch defending.
13:46And another corner, can they take advantage of this one?
13:52Well, a substitution, and they have a mountain to climb.
13:55However, Stuart, you can understand the thinking.
13:57Well, this change should have been made ten minutes earlier.
13:59Unless, of course, he can have a massive impact on the game.
14:03I'm not sure he will.
14:06Delivering it.
14:12Well, a really single-minded piece of defending to make sure nothing untoward happened.
14:25Very quick thinking there.
14:32Now, the counter-attack looks on.
14:42And in with a real chance.
14:44Oh, fully stretched.
14:56Trying to deliver it accurately.
14:58Oh, strong hands from the goalkeeper.
15:02Rising up to claim it.
15:07And there it is.
15:08The final whistle.
15:09A really positive start on match day one.
15:12And a way win, Stuart.
15:14Yeah, that's a good win.
15:15And a vital three points.
15:17Another win next time.
15:22Off!
15:44Off!
15:48Off!
15:49Off!
15:49Off!
15:50Off!
