00:08Wow, okay, ladies and gentlemen, introducing the new Yamaha RW family.
00:19Okay, I would now like to introduce someone new to the stage who can tell us a bit more
00:25about this revolutionary new family coming to the market in 2027.
00:30Please welcome Yamaha Motor Europe's division manager for powered two-wheelers, Shun Miyazawa.
00:40These are looking amazing. Thank you so much for being here.
00:45Thanks, Grace. First of all, good evening, everyone.
00:50It is really great to see so many familiar faces
00:54being together here tonight.
00:56Because tonight is a very, very important moment for our brand in Europe.
01:01Thank you so much, Shun.
01:03Now, I've got to start by asking you an obvious question,
01:07which is to tell us a bit more about the RW family,
01:10because these look quite a bit different to something that we've seen before.
01:15Right. Yeah, surely I think they are very different, as you can see.
01:19But different in a very, very positive way.
01:23Because RW is a premium, is a very versatile, off-road adventure ready,
01:30newest product family from Yamaha.
01:34They are built for everyday freedom, everyday fun,
01:40to basically allow people to go everywhere.
01:44So, this is what we got.
01:46Okay.
01:47And based on what Olivier was saying, you know,
01:50tonight's theme is called redefine the standard.
01:53So, how are the RWs redefining the standard?
01:59And can you talk us through the models that we've got on the stage?
02:02Yeah, absolutely.
02:03So, first of all, here we have RW 700, right next to you, Grace.
02:08Okay.
02:09This is the heart of our RW family.
02:11It is powered by CP2 engine, very well-known, very popular engine,
02:17but paired with YMT, automated manual transmission.
02:23Alongside it, we have RW 700 Explorer.
02:27This is the version with even more long-distance functionality
02:31and capability being equipped.
02:33But not only those 700 flagship products,
02:38tonight we are also presenting RW350.
02:42RW350 comes with all-new 330cc engine
02:48and new chassis engine mounting system we call Yamaha Dynamic Ride.
02:55This is a known technology we have polished over the years,
02:59and it really changes the sporty dynamic riding.
03:03So, those are the products we've got here today.
03:06Thank you.
03:06So, a new engine, new models.
03:09So, I guess, touching on that, redefining the standard,
03:13can you explain, in your words, how are these models doing that?
03:16Yeah, absolutely, because what we did for those products
03:19really represents this approach of redefining standard.
03:22because Yamaha RW is not simply evolving, evolution of something we have today in the market.
03:34It doesn't exist today in the market.
03:37Based on our proven record of passions and dedication for any kind of off-road experience,
03:48we have built and offered throughout our history of the brand,
03:53they aim to establish a completely new benchmark.
03:58They are built around real performance,
04:03and they are built for real freedom of movement,
04:08both in an on-road environment, but also at an off-road environment.
04:15So, instead of adapting an existing formula to make the new product,
04:23I would say we started with different ambition
04:29to create a completely new breed,
04:33something genuinely real and highly capable.
04:38So, I would like to show the proof of this video.
04:41Let's have a look.
04:48Okay, I mean, you mentioned there, Shun, about creating something completely new,
04:53and it really does look like that.
04:55So, I guess the RW family is the latest from Yamaha in their innovation.
05:00It really encompasses that word.
05:02Absolutely, Grace.
05:06Yeah, RW is one of the perfect examples of Yamaha innovation.
05:12As you saw, we tried by combining outstanding performance on-road
05:19and very capable genuine off-road capacity,
05:24while preserving also versatility and ease of use you'd expect for the daily commuting scene.
05:36So, we have created something truly unique here.
05:43This is exactly the kind of challenge Yamaha really loves to take on.
05:47Thank you.
05:49I mean, we would love to hear more about that performance, actually.
05:52And on that, we're about to be joined by someone else on the stage
05:56who has actually had the chance to ride some of these new models,
06:00who is from Yamaha Motor Times, a long-standing Yamaha dealer here in Italy.
06:06Please join me in welcoming Paolo Vino.
06:10So, it's a really pleasure to have you on stage,
06:13because Paolo and I know almost 20 years each other.
06:18We always talk about new ideas, some inspiration,
06:22what's going to be a trend, what's going to be a future of motorcycle industries.
06:26And he has seen all the trend ups and downs,
06:30and I think it's great to have you here to talk about our new departure
06:33of a completely new family of Yamaha.
06:36So, welcome.
06:36We're definitely excited to hear about it, Paolo.
06:39As one of the very few people in the world
06:42that have had the chance to ride these models,
06:44I think a lot of us are desperate to know what was it like.
06:47Yes, Grace, I was very lucky last week
06:50because I got to ride the new RW when the team called me.
06:55And I was very excited because this is a big new model for Yamaha.
07:01It feels like two vehicles in one.
07:06If you move your foot position forward in automatic mode,
07:13you can ride with the comfort of a convenience and of an executive scooter.
07:20But if you want to change and move your feet on footpacks
07:24and use manual shifting, suddenly the character changes
07:30and you unlock the sporty ride.
07:33That dual personality and the motorcycle scooter crossover
07:39is something that I think riders will appreciate.
07:44Yeah, you sort of touched on that dual personality, shouldn't there?
07:47Yeah, this dual personality, I think, is a really important keyword for Yamaha.
07:52Because Yamaha's strength has never been about being specialist in only one area.
07:59Over the 70 years of brand history,
08:02we have produced so many different kinds of motorcycles and scooters, as you know.
08:08And by being a full line-up brand,
08:10made some of our greatest innovation and success possible.
08:15when we successfully combine two different worlds
08:20that would not normally belong to each other, belong to each other.
08:24And as Paolo said, this dual personality is something we really strive to make an innovation.
08:29So it's good to hear you felt these personalities.
08:33Yes, it's absolutely true.
08:36You think that 25 years ago, Yamaha combined the practicality and the convenience of a scooter
08:44with a level of sporty riding performance that no one before achieved.
08:52The result was the T-Max that became an icon and continues to define the segment today.
09:02Absolutely.
09:02Yeah, absolutely.
09:03I mean, you've sold a lot of T-Max.
09:06So first of all, thank you.
09:07And we really enjoyed working together, evolving T-Max.
09:11But you know very well that T-Max is not the only example of this dual personality.
09:16I think our MT series, for example, is clearly having the Japanese backbone.
09:24Engineer, technology, reliability is purely Japanese.
09:29However, it also comes with very unique emotional riding experience.
09:36Another good example we have recently proved is our 10LS 700 families.
09:42Paolo also enjoy riding it often, and we know many people really embrace it.
09:47But why?
09:49Because the 10LS 700 has very high versatility, allowing you to do everything on-road.
09:57However, it also possesses genuine off-road capability.
10:02So if we think about how Yamaha brand evolved over the 70 years, again and again Yamaha creates
10:11something new by bringing together two requirements or sometimes even three requirements that initially
10:19seem contradictory and impossible to co-exist.
10:23When we succeed by putting these things together, thanks to everybody's passion to offer some new, never-seen experience,
10:34that really makes Yamaha's history.
10:36I completely agree that Yamaha have done so well over the years of combining those models and creating a hybrid.
10:43Now, Paolo, you're here representing many of the dealers in the room.
10:48And we know how important dealers are for Yamaha's future.
10:52So I'm sure you've got a message that you'd like to share with the rest of the dealers here.
10:56Yes.
10:57First of all, I'm very honored to represent fellow my Yamaha dealers.
11:03And I have to thank Yamaha for this opportunity because testing something so new is very emotional.
11:12And I have to tell you that RW surprised me because my first idea was that it was similar to
11:19other adventure scooters.
11:21But this was a mistake. It was a mistake. RW is a new concept and the performance is beyond expectation.
11:31Engine character, we already know. But mounted on this chassis, Guy offers different feelings.
11:43And if you want to, for example, use the rear brake lever together with the manual shifting,
11:51you can drive in tight corners with more confidence.
11:55But not only. Suspensions, for example, are a right compromise for traveling.
12:02And if you want to enjoy a mountain route, it's our very best.
12:09In conclusion, I think this will be another Yamaha winner on our roads.
12:16And I can't wait to sell it.
12:19Yes. I mean, it's great to hear your insights and having the opportunity to ride it really helps you sell
12:26it.
12:26And hearing your insights as well has got me intrigued.
12:30I'm very excited to try one myself.
12:33Now, Shun, as manager as well, you must be incredibly excited for something brand new to come to the market
12:40for 2027.
12:42Yeah. No, absolutely. First, I think it was good.
12:44It was a mistake of Paolo because, indeed, I think you felt something very, very candle, no?
12:51Because hopefully it really exceeded your expectation.
12:55And also, thank God you didn't crash because Paolo is a very fast rider.
12:59He used to race on the R6 and every time he takes a new product, he really pushes.
13:03So if he's happy, that means the machine is very, very, very capable.
13:08So I'm very happy to hear that.
13:10For the crash tests.
13:11Yes.
13:11It's a crash test.
13:12Good praise there for you, Paolo.
13:14Yeah.
13:15And it's been brilliant to see these three new models, Shun.
13:18Absolutely.
13:18But is there more to come from this new range?
13:22Yeah.
13:23Of course, I think if we...
13:25First of all, it's a very good question.
13:27So thank you.
13:28And the answer is yes.
13:30Absolutely yes, Grace.
13:32Okay.
13:33For sure, we are very, very excited tonight.
13:36Because as I said, this is a very important night for Yamaha by introducing the new family of product in
13:44a very important market, which is Europe.
13:47And as we have shown in our past effort and our commitment, when we introduce the new family, we are
13:57really committed to offer this new experience to many, many, many riders.
14:02Because we know in Europe, there are different group of customers, different group of riders having different expectations, different riding
14:12background, different experience, different driving license even.
14:17So we definitely take those into account.
14:21And as a Yamaha, we always push our boundaries to offer as much as possible our new experience to broader
14:28riders as much as possible.
14:30So having said that, I think we can definitely say what we have shown today and what we have seen
14:41tonight is just the beginning.
14:43Because this is a new segment we are launching in Europe.
14:48And we can for sure say there will be more product joining in this category.
14:54Because once again, we as a Yamaha motor brand is 100% committed to offer this fantastic new experience to
15:02as many as possible riders.
15:04Because we are really excited about it.
15:06Just like Paolo.
15:07So let's please pay attention to what's going to be happening to our RW family.
15:11Because it's going to be evolved for sure.
15:14I think it sounds like a bit of a teaser that, Paolo.
15:17Thank you, Shun.
15:18And thank you to both of you for your insights.
15:21I think many of us in the room can agree that this is something truly revolutionary and that we don't
15:26see on the market at the moment.
15:28So please join me in giving an applause one last time for Shun, Mia Zauer and Paolo Vino.
15:36Thanks, Grace.
15:38And also I'd like to thank you, Paolo, one more time.
15:41Once again, I think it's really great to get together with all the familiar faces.
15:47And I would especially like to thank you for our dealers here tonight, our partners.
15:54We have 400 of them tonight.
15:55And also online, I hope many other dealers are paying very high attention and interest towards what we are doing
16:05here today in Milano.
16:08Because we always truly believe everything we achieve as a Yamaha is always built together with you guys, our dealers.
16:21We share the same passion and same objective.
16:26And we always say our objective is creating the very best customer experience, lifetime experience and continue to inspire riders
16:37across Europe.
16:41Together with you, we have built Yamaha's history here in Europe.
16:49And together, we can further build our future.
16:55And we always need you because we are one big family and we support each other to continue to strive
17:02offering new experience.
17:05So let's do this together.
17:06Thank you for joining us tonight.
17:08Ladies and gentlemen, thank you once again, Shun, Mia Zauer and Paolo Vino.
17:15Thank you.
17:18Thank you.
17:19So we've seen some fantastic new models this evening.
17:23And it's quite clear as to what Yamaha have got to offer as they move into 2027 and the future
17:30ahead.
17:31And how they're looking to redefine the standard.
17:34Now, before we finish tonight, I would like to invite back the president and CEO of Yamaha Motor Europe, Olivier,
17:41to say some more words.
17:42Great to see that Yamaha are taking a bold new direction for 2027.
17:47I'm sure there's plenty of people that want to come up to the front, get a closer look and some
17:51photographs.
17:52But any final words from you?
17:55Thank you, Grace.
17:56Yes.
17:57We are very proud today to share all this new model for our lineup of 2027.
18:02But as said already several times, this is just the beginning.
18:07Our ambition for the future is bigger than ever.
18:10Last year, we promised more than 10 new models in coming three years.
18:16Tonight, you have seen the first step towards our future lineup.
18:22Yes.
18:23Yes.
18:24Sorry, Olivier.
18:25Sorry.
18:26Sorry.
18:27I think...
18:27Sorry.
18:28I think we just had a bit of a glitch there.
18:30Sorry, ladies and gentlemen.
18:32I think we're just having some technical issues.
18:36Hello.
18:36Good night to everyone.
18:39Ciao tutti.
18:40Buonanotte.
18:41Is that Paul Taras in Kevin Gallas?
18:44Yes.
18:45Don't worry.
18:46Everything is under control.
18:48But today, tonight, we are missing something really important.
18:53This scooter looks honestly really cool.
18:57Maybe with Kevin we can go on Esmer.
18:59What do you think?
19:00Yeah, I think we should do maybe a race or two.
19:03What do you think?
19:04We can go, no?
19:07Yeah.
19:09But...
19:09Guys, what are you doing here?
19:11Olivier.
19:12What do you want?
19:13What about us?
19:15Tell, please.
19:16What about us?
19:16Olivier, Grace, we are here because we have a message from the Tenere community.
19:22Right.
19:22Well, we need that message then.
19:24What's going on?
19:26Olivier, please, come here with me.
19:28We have to talk.
19:29We have to talk.
19:31Everybody knows that we really, really love Tenere 700.
19:36It's our baby.
19:38We really love it.
19:39But we need something new.
19:42We are waiting for something new.
19:44And everybody keeps on asking about a smaller Tenere.
19:49You've got to answer that.
19:50I know, Paul.
19:51Yes.
19:51Paul and Kevin, I know very well.
19:53Actually, today is the first time I see you without a Tenere 700 beside.
19:59What is mine?
20:00Yeah.
20:01So, I understand.
20:03You come here because you want a small Tenere.
20:05I understood also that many of the customers, they want a small Tenere.
20:11They want a stronger Tenere family.
20:14So, I would like to show you something today.
20:18Let's have a look there.
20:20Okay.
20:21Olivier.
20:22Wow.
20:23This looks amazing.
20:26Yeah.
20:27Yeah.
20:28It definitely looks amazing.
20:30Right.
20:31We need an explanation then.
20:32What do we have here?
20:34Yes.
20:34Yeah.
20:34What we are showing here is what we call the Tenere four concept.
20:39This is again one of the ongoing development projects in Yamaha.
20:46What does it mean?
20:47It means I cannot give you today a date for the production or market introduction.
20:52But this is under preparation.
20:54And the target is to further strengthen our Tenere family.
20:59And this is only one of the model which will come in the future.
21:03And this is to continue to expand this family.
21:07We choose to show this Tenere four concept this evening as it was mentioned on the screen
21:14because many customers are waiting for it.
21:17Many customers are inspiring us for it.
21:21We listen to these customers.
21:23We listen to their expectation.
21:25And we translate this into a product.
21:28Okay.
21:30But as you mentioned, it's a concept.
21:33So, what more can you tell us about it?
21:36This concept is to show that we are working to create a light, agile and versatile adventure bike.
21:44This will be suitable both for off-road, for real off-road, but also suitable for on-road usage.
21:51This will be suitable both for experienced riders, but also for developing riders.
21:59This exciting new generation of adventure motorcycle features a brand new engine, a brand new chassis.
22:07And this is required to fully respect the Tenere DNA.
22:13Okay.
22:14I mean, it sounds quite exciting.
22:15Something light, agile, versatile.
22:18I mean, Paul and Kevin, you're giving us some nods there.
22:20I mean, you guys are no strangers to a Tenere, but something like Olivier is describing, light, agile, versatile.
22:28That must be quite exciting.
22:30Yeah.
22:31Honestly, it looks really nice, really cool.
22:34I can't wait to be in Esbel Rodeo or achieve a new world record with this super bike.
22:39So, yeah.
22:40What do you think, Kevin?
22:41Yeah.
22:41I think this platform will open a perfect base for people to experience new terrains and maybe even race Romaniacs.
22:54What do you think?
22:55Let's go.
22:55Right.
22:56I mean, we're already getting word of Romaniacs and world records here.
23:00But as you mentioned, that platform, a Tenere 4, what could be possible with something like that?
23:07Yeah, I think it will be quite easy to ride and open up the possibilities for a lot of people
23:14to experience adventures together.
23:17And I can't wait to have mine and take Paul and a couple of friends riding and, yeah, experience what
23:23it's all about.
23:23Yeah.
23:24And that's what a Tenere is about, isn't it?
23:26Making memories, which you guys have certainly made over the years.
23:30And, you know, you brought with you messages from the adventure community.
23:35Do you think they're going to be happy with something like this that Olivier has revealed?
23:39Yeah.
23:40As Kevin said, I think it's going to be more easy to drive, to ride.
23:44It's going to be super funny.
23:45I can't wait to be on the top of the bike, honestly.
23:49Actually, now I'm like, wow.
23:50I have to ride now this bike to take some adventures with my friends, with Kevin, with my crew.
23:57So, yeah.
23:58Let's go for it.
23:59Yeah.
23:59Well, the world is your oyster.
24:01I saw you having a close look at it over there and people are welcome at the end to come
24:06and have a closer look as well.
24:08So, I guess, Olivier, we would love to know when we can expect to see something like this, but come
24:14to the market.
24:15Yeah.
24:15I'm expecting incoming deaths.
24:17This will be the most popular question I will receive is when this will come.
24:22I have a scoop.
24:23I will not tell today.
24:24So, our focus now is really on how to develop this bike in a full respect of the Teneré DNA.
24:33We do not want to create a fake small Teneré.
24:37This Teneré 4 must have the DNA of the Teneré.
24:40And this is all our focus today, to create and to keep that Teneré riding experience.
24:48Our target is to bring this bike to the market once it will be ready.
24:54And we have to fulfill all the expectations of the customers, all the quality requirements of Yamaha.
24:59And this is what we are working on.
25:01I will keep also this information for the next event I will meet you and to give you the date.
25:07You have to be a little patient, not long, just a little.
25:12Just a little patient.
25:14Paul, Kevin, can you be just a little patient?
25:19It's going to be difficult, eh?
25:20You have a long skill set, but I'm not sure if that's what...
25:22Can you just make sure that we get the first ones? Is that okay? Is that possible?
25:26Yes, this I can.
25:27I want the first one, eh?
25:29Yes.
25:29The second one.
25:30We can sign the order after. It's okay.
25:33Yes.
25:34Well, I'm sure you guys are very excited.
25:36I'll be joining the queue with you to give it a go as well.
25:39Ladies and gentlemen, Paul Taras and Kevin Gallas.
25:41Thank you.
25:42Thank you, guys.
25:49Well, okay. I mean, Olivier, you promised us something big and you've delivered seven models tonight.
25:55That certainly didn't disappoint.
25:58Yeah, I promised something big, but finally it's a small Teneré, but okay.
26:01So, thank you, Grace.
26:04So, again, we are very proud today to release this 2027 lineup.
26:09And again, today is just a beginning.
26:12Our ambition for the future is even bigger.
