00:00I
00:30You know, I really wasn't nervous about the airplane itself, you know, all the testing you had gone through, the
00:36people that had built it, and all the tweaks that we had to do, you know, over those years.
00:41That when we went through the testing, it really gave you the confidence. I wasn't losing any sleep the night
00:47before.
00:50Because I knew we had a good airplane, and I knew we had a great team.
01:10The nose came up and needed to come up some more because now it's getting too fast, so I had
01:15to bring the nose up even more.
01:17I think the controller even gave me a shout-out and said, check speed, and then got the airspeed to
01:22come back down again.
01:23I remember thinking, ooh, this thing's a rocket ship.
01:27And we were at 12,000 feet like that.
01:40So a lot of people have asked me how the airplane compared to the sim, and I think even during
01:47the flight, I think I even said flies a lot like the sim.
01:50But just what you want in the first flight, you know, exciting but uneventful.
01:59Pulling off the runway, I think was probably, had a minute to pause and realize, it kind of, almost like,
02:08it's over.
02:12I'm really excited to see when we finally get to the design point, get some microphones out there, and actually
02:18record the thump.
02:23We know Lockheed can build an airplane and, you know, make it fly.
02:27Can we build that airplane, make it fly, and turn that sonic boom into a thump?
02:31That'll be a really cool day.
02:33That'll be a really cool day.
