00:00Somebody in this movie is lying to you. Maybe it's the woman who went to prison for fraud.
00:06Maybe it's the man standing right behind her. And maybe, just maybe, it's the guy holding the camera.
00:15Hey everyone, welcome back. Today I am breaking down You Can See Everything,
00:21the strangest documentary of the year. Stay with me till the very end.
00:27Because the last 10 seconds of this movie made me question everything I had just watched.
00:34Quick warning, there are spoilers ahead.
00:46If you have seen The Truman Show, here's the easiest way to think about this film.
00:52In The Truman Show, one man lives inside a world that is secretly staged. Here the people on his skin
01:00are the ones doing the staging. And nobody knows who is fooling whom. It's like The Truman Show.
01:07Except Truman is in on it. Maybe.
01:10It's 2023. Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theron's, has been convicted of fraud. In 34 days,
01:19she goes to prison. Her partner, Billy Evans, has an idea. He calls it radical transparency.
01:28Let the cameras see everything. And the world will finally meet the real Elizabeth.
01:34So they invite Nathan Filder, the awkward comedian from Nathan for you, to move into their beach house.
01:42Everything is flamed in a tight, uncomfortable frame. So close you can see every blank.
01:49And Elizabeth barely blanks.
01:52Nathan tries to get a straight answer from her.
01:55She insists her machine can run hundreds of tests.
01:59Nathan says, you mean it cold? They argue over those two little words.
02:04And it goes nowhere.
02:06So he plays her the old comedy sketch, who's on first.
02:11She laughs. Then he asks her to explain the joke.
02:15And she cannot.
02:17Billy jumps in and says that.
02:19Why he laughs her?
02:20She thinks differently.
02:22Another day, Elizabeth is clamely whisking eggs.
02:26And Billy takes the boil out of her hands and does it himself.
02:31Small moment, but it feels like a warning.
02:35Elizabeth goes to prison.
02:36And the film loses its star.
02:39So Nathan does something brilliant.
02:42He calls Amanda Seyfried.
02:44The actress who played Elizabeth in the dropout.
02:47And shows her footage of the real Elizabeth crying over that show.
02:52Amanda feels bad for her.
02:54Then defensive.
02:56Then angry.
02:57And soon Amanda is playing Elizabeth again.
03:00Renacting the scenes, Nathan couldn't film.
03:03Now here's where it gets dark.
03:05Billy secretly asked for a share of the movie's profit.
03:09While Elizabeth was out of the room.
03:11Did she know?
03:13Or is Billy using her?
03:15Stay with me.
03:15Because the answer comes down to single word.
03:19And I will tell you what that word is in a minute.
03:24And at the very end.
03:25There's a scene in the ocean that changes how you see Nathan himself.
03:31Here's what Amanda and Nathan discover.
03:34Billy is running Elizabeth's Twitter account.
03:37And he admits he something doesn't even ask her fast.
03:42He holds her power of attorney.
03:44He approves an AI version of her face.
03:47And when Amanda has dinner with him.
03:50He attacks her over her comments about Charlie Creek.
03:54And the night turns ugly.
03:56He even talks about getting revenge on anyone who hurt Elizabeth.
04:02It's scary.
04:03Nathan finally visits Elizabeth in person.
04:06But no cameras are allowed.
04:08So rebuild the conversation from memory.
04:11With Amanda playing Elizabeth.
04:14And that's where the words comes in.
04:17Did Elizabeth says.
04:18I knew Billy was talking about it.
04:21Or I knew he was talking about something.
04:24One word.
04:25Completely different meaning.
04:26And Nathan isn't sure which one she said.
04:30Amanda notices he keeps making Elizabeth sound kinder.
04:34She asks him.
04:35Do you have feeling for her?
04:37He says no.
04:39She doesn't believe him.
04:40Then the film shows us footage.
04:42We never saw before.
04:44Nathan and Elizabeth holding hands.
04:47Swimming in the ocean.
04:49And suddenly we are asking the question he asked everyone else.
04:53Can we judge the person telling the story?
04:57In the end, Billy gives up the money.
04:59Elizabeth plays with her.
05:01Kinds in the prison here.
05:03And the New York Times still stands by the courts.
05:07Elizabeth always denied.
05:09They are not playing me.
05:10They are playing a character.
05:13I created.
05:14For me, this movie is a 4.5 out of 5.
05:18It's funny.
05:19It's creepy.
05:20And stays in your head for days.
05:22It loses half a point because the length.
05:26Almost 3 hours.
05:27Will be hard for some people.
05:29Now, I want to hear from you.
05:32Is Elizabeth a victim, a manipulator or both?
05:36And what would you rate you can see everything out of 5?
05:41Tell me in the comments.
05:42If you enjoyed this, please like and subscribe.
05:46And I will see you in the next one.
