00:16All right, practice is over. Pack your crap up and get the hell off my field.
00:23At least practice isn't going to suck like that for the rest of the year.
00:27Pre-season is finally over. We'll just be training more nights a week.
00:31That means less time for you to hang out with Liam. Stop saying I like Liam.
00:46Are you even listening to me?
00:48Everyone knows you like him, Josie. There's no use denying it.
00:54Just be more discreet if, if you don't want people to talk.
01:06All right, wrap it up! Everyone off the field now!
01:09Briggs is insane, right? I almost died. And hey, Liam and me are nothing. Stop that.
01:15Yeah. Come on, move it! Food's going to run out.
01:19I thought I could keep this secret buried forever, but it's already about to get out.
01:25Hey, you spacing out? I'm not waiting.
01:45Damn it, that dream again.
01:54Damn it, that dream again.
01:57Why are you up so early?
01:58Football trials at UP Fen. Can't let all this growing go to waste.
02:02Don't deny the fact your new physique hasn't helped you with the girls.
02:12Come on, hurry up. We're going to be late.
02:17Ready?
02:18Yeah.
02:19Why have you dressed up so nicely?
02:21Seriously. It's the first day back. Can't a girl make an effort?
02:27You never make an effort.
02:33I know what you're doing, Sam.
02:42I can't believe we're actually here.
02:45I mean, it's not like we're in high school anymore.
02:57Come on, can't be late on the first day of school.
03:02Hi, I'm Harper. Nice to meet you.
03:08Sam. Sam Carpenter.
03:10So, you're the captain of the soccer team, and you're my personal tour guide?
03:15So, you're always like a-line.
03:16It feels like overkill.
03:19Think of it as VIP treatment.
03:21Don't get used to it.
03:28I'm Harper Sinclair.
03:30I just moved here from out of state, and I play soccer.
03:34Okay.
03:36Whoa, you're from out of state?
03:38That's so cool.
03:41Want to let me show you around?
03:42I know this place like the back of my hand.
03:49Hey, if you stare at her any harder, your eyes are going to pop out.
03:54Did your old school have a girl's soccer team, too?
03:57All right, everyone, quiet down.
03:58Let's start class.
04:00Turn to page one in your textbooks.
04:03Thanks for not making me wander around lost on my first day.
04:06We're in English together, so you might not need that tardy slip yet.
04:15I know, right?
04:18The new girl's fitting in fast.
04:21Yeah, she is.
04:23Thanks. No, no, no.
04:25So, are you thinking about trying out for the team?
04:30Maybe.
04:33Benny's does great milkshakes if you ever want to.
04:35I've got to get to class.
04:49Sam, you okay?
04:51Why was she being so cold to you earlier?
04:56I'm fine.
04:58Too late.
05:01Welcome to tryouts, ladies.
05:04You have two hours.
05:05No callbacks.
05:06No second chances.
05:08One shot.
05:10She removed her nose prissing.
05:12A small bump on her nostril the only proof it was ever there.
05:16Whatever dislike she has for me hasn't stopped her from trailing.
05:19Good.
05:19Let her try.
05:20I'm not going down that easy.
05:22This girl's skills are no joke.
05:24She's fast.
05:25Sharp.
05:26Better than half the team.
05:29You going to move, Captain?
05:32Make me.
05:48Yes.
05:50Yes.
05:52Yes!
05:55That's my girl.
05:56The new girl is really great.
05:58Put her on the list.
05:59As for Sam, let her stay captain.
06:02She's the heart of this team.
06:03She's the best of us.
06:09Ethan and I have been more distant than ever.
06:12Every conversation feels forced.
06:14His abuela noticed.
06:15Even Josie won't bring up Ethan anymore.
06:20So, Sam.
06:21What are you wearing to Josie's party?
06:26Is there any chance of fixing it?
06:28Do I even want to try?
06:32I know I love him.
06:34But am I still in love with him?
06:42Is there any way to fix what's broken?
06:47Or is it already too late?
06:50Hey!
06:51Come on, Sam!
06:52Just wait!
06:59Why didn't you stop?
07:01Why did you stop so suddenly?
07:13Can't I just want to walk with you to class?
07:16I can't remember the last time Ethan's touch set my skin alight.
07:20No spark.
07:22No rush.
07:23Nothing like this.
07:24Woo!
07:25Shot through the heart, baby!
07:28Josie, turn that down a little!
07:34Come on, stop shaking.
07:38Sam, are you okay?
07:47I'm fine.
07:48Just, you know, first party of the year nerves.
07:52Oh my god, you look hot!
07:55Like, dangerously hot!
07:58Ethan's gonna lose his mind.
08:01Not what you think!
08:04Hey, whatever is going on, you can tell us.
08:07You know that, right?
08:12I know, I'm fine.
08:14Let's go have fun.
08:20She's so obvious, right?
08:24Yeah.
08:27Sam, just chill.
08:29It's fine.
08:30I got you.
08:32Don't worry.
08:35Spin it!
08:36Spin it!
08:38Come on, come on!
08:42Yo, truth or dare, Harper?
08:45Dare.
08:45It's the prettiest person in this circle!
08:48Woo!
08:49Yeah!
08:50Come on, baby.
08:56Oh, shit.
08:58I have to say this.
09:03Whoa.
09:10Come on, looks like my ego grown.
09:13A girl calling me pretty is a much bigger compliment than any boy.
09:18Hey, I told you not to let it go to your head.
09:21Are you fucking kidding me?
09:24What the hell just happened?
09:26All right, enough gawking!
09:28Next spin, let us move!
09:32Yo, I am going to go grab some air.
09:34Catch you guys in a sec.
09:49I was smiling.
09:51For a second, I was just happy.
09:53But then, how can I be happy?
09:56This is wrong.
09:57So wrong.
09:59Occupy!
10:00It's me.
10:07I thought you were...
10:08Did you feel that?
10:12Feel what?
10:13Don't do that.
10:14Don't pretend.
10:15Yeah.
10:16I felt it.
10:18Okay.
10:19So what do we do?
10:21I don't know.
10:22I have a boyfriend, Harper.
10:25I know.
10:28And I don't...
10:29I'm not...
10:29Nobody knows that I...
10:31You don't have to explain anything to me.
10:33Not tonight.
10:36I just needed to know I wasn't imagining it.
10:43I...
10:59Here.
11:01Thanks, man.
11:02You are a total lifesaver.
11:04I was this close to turning into a popsicle out here.
11:09I couldn't have your teeth choddering.
11:11It puts me off my food.
11:21Almost lost you there, Sam.
11:24How did you know I wanted a milkshake?
11:26You mentioned it once.
11:28At school.
11:29You said Benny's milkshakes could fix anything.
11:32That was one sentence?
11:33Two weeks ago.
11:34I pay attention.
11:36I pay attention.
12:08Sam, seriously.
12:09What's going on with you?
12:12I'm fine.
12:13You've said that 11 times today.
12:15I counted.
12:15Then stop asking.
12:20My friend's telling me I turned into some flirty little mistress.
12:25At the party is making my head hurt.
12:27Worse than any hangover.
12:40Whatever's gotten a Callaway, I hope it stays.
12:42Harper is the only person who hasn't constantly checked in on me.
12:46She hasn't asked how I am.
12:47Hasn't pestered me.
12:48She hasn't brought up that night.
12:50And for that reason, she's the only person I can stand being around.
12:57Let's go home.
13:00He hasn't done anything wrong.
13:02That's the worst part.
13:11No, no, no, no!
13:17Help me, my car is broken.
13:27Morning, damsel.
13:30Don't start.
13:33Your chariot awaits.
13:35Seatbelt.
13:39Seriously.
13:41You can thank me by buying me lunch.
13:43Deal.
13:44You look tired.
13:48Gee, thanks.
13:50I mean it.
13:51Are you sleeping?
13:52Not really.
14:16Of course, Mom.
14:34Harper, why are you at my house?
14:37I thought I was being robbed.
14:39Why would I knock if I was robbing you?
14:43Maybe I'm the distraction
14:44while someone else steals your stuff.
14:54I figured your car's still dead
14:56and we're going to the same place.
14:58Come on, the bus leaves in 30.
15:04Thank me on the bus.
15:07Move it, Calloway.
15:11Morning.
15:19For the final 30 minutes,
15:21a game,
15:21I'll pick the team.
15:24Hey.
15:28Hey.
15:45Close your mouth, Captain.
16:11Talk.
16:12What do you want me to say, Josie?
16:15I think you already know.
16:17I want you to tell me
16:18why you didn't think you could trust me with this.
16:21Why you couldn't trust me or Nora.
16:25You're not disgusted?
16:28God, no.
16:30You're my best friend.
16:32I'll love you until I die.
16:34We knew Sam, me and Nora,
16:36were not stupid.
16:37We've seen how you look at girls at parties.
16:40Oh, God.
16:42And don't get me started
16:43on how you exploded on Brooke today.
16:45That wasn't just defending a teammate.
16:48You don't hate me for liking girls.
16:50I've seen you do things that disgusted me.
16:53Like eating mud in seventh grade.
16:55This?
16:55This doesn't even register.
16:58You went out for food without me?
17:00Some friends you are.
17:07Don't stress.
17:08Your secret's safe with all of us.
17:15Project time.
17:16Pairs.
17:17Argumentative essay.
17:19Big Bang Theory.
17:20Due in three weeks.
17:26Calloway and Morales.
17:35So, your place or mine for research?
17:41Library's fine.
17:43Sam, can we talk?
17:45Not about physics?
17:46Ethan.
17:47I know something's wrong.
17:48I've known for weeks.
17:49You won't look at me?
17:50You flinch when I touch you?
17:51Just tell me what I did.
17:53You didn't do anything.
17:54You didn't do anything.
17:58Then why does it feel like I'm losing you?
18:00Can we just...
18:01Do the project?
18:02Please?
18:06He deserves the truth.
18:08I'm just not brave enough to give it to him yet.
18:18Harper, you'll freeze.
18:20I run hot.
18:22Come on.
18:23Come on.
18:24Come on.
18:26Come on.
18:27Come on.
18:31I'm starting a collection of your hoodies.
18:35I'm starting to think that's your plan.
18:44Can I ask you something?
18:47Depends.
18:48At the party, when you kissed me back, was that the alcohol?
18:54No?
18:57Was it curiosity?
19:00No, Harper.
19:02Okay.
19:04I just needed to hear you say it.
19:09She keeps giving me chances to deny it, and I keep refusing to.
19:22We need to talk about Harper.
19:26What about her?
19:28I see what you're doing, Sam.
19:31The rides to school.
19:32The inside jokes.
19:34The way you look at her.
19:38I don't know what you're talking about.
19:41You have a boyfriend.
19:44Harper doesn't deserve to be your experiment.
19:49She's not an experiment, because from where I'm standing, you're stringing along a boy who
19:54loves you, while playing with a girl's feelings because you're too scared to pick a side.
20:02You don't know anything about me.
20:05I know what it looks like to be confused.
20:06I've been there.
20:08But I didn't drag other people through it with me.
20:13The worst part is, she's not entirely wrong.
20:19We've trained for this.
20:21We know what we're capable of.
20:23Play for each other.
20:25Leave everything on this pitch.
20:37They're sitting deep.
20:39We need to stretch them.
20:40Harper, I'm moving you central.
20:43Sam, push up when we have the ball.
21:03Get a room!
21:11I watched you score that assist today.
21:14You were incredible.
21:17Thanks.
21:18You hugged her for a long time.
21:22She scored the winning goal, Ethan!
21:24The whole team hugged her!
21:25Sam, I'm not stupid.
21:28I don't know what's happening between us, but I know something changed.
21:32You don't look at me anymore.
21:44Not the way you used to.
21:46Ethan!
21:48Do you still love me?
21:50I will always love you.
21:52You're one of my best friends.
21:56That's not what I asked.
21:58I asked you to marry me.
22:05Okay.
22:10I'm sorry.
22:12I'm so sorry.
22:14I know you are.
