00:11Hi, I'm Paul Cuccinello and we're here at Chris Chase Salon in Chelsea. I'm here with Emory today
00:16and we're going to talk about how to flat iron your hair quickly so you can get a more polished
00:21end result. So here are some of the tools that I would recommend you start to work with before
00:25you flat iron the hair. First you're going to want a heat protectant. This is another type of heat
00:31protectant that will give you some volume reduction. Also after you're finished doing your
00:36flat ironing you might have a couple fly away hairs so I always recommend a finishing spray to
00:41work with at the end. And then you're also going to have a bunch of sectioning clips. Of course a
00:46really good quality flat iron. That's the key to everything. So what I love about the new Remington
00:51flat iron is that it has so many of the variables that I look for in a professional styling tool.
00:56It has swiveling plates which is really great because it gives you a lot of styling versatility.
01:01If you want to be able to put a little bit of bend in the hair and you're not looking
01:04for that super
01:04Japanese relaxer straight look this tool will be perfect for that. Another great feature that a lot
01:10of people don't pay attention to is the fact that the plates are slightly recessed from the edge of
01:16the tool will prevent you from burning yourself. So you can get right up against the scalp without
01:20burning yourself. Let's start by evenly distributing a heat protectant in the hair and then we're
01:25going to create four separate sections. We want to start with two front sections. In this case
01:32we'll be using a center part. And then we'll divide the hair at the crown heading down to right behind
01:41the
01:41ears. Next you'll work in one inch sections. So basically just use your fingertips creating tension
02:02between the scalp and following with the flat iron down towards the end of the hair. So you'll do one
02:09inch
02:09sections at a time starting in the front. Then I'll suggest you work at the nape of the neck finishing
02:18with the hair section at the crown. To finish your look I'd suggest working with a light workable hair
02:25spray. Just spray it along the part at the top of your hair and just use it to smooth out
02:31and flatten
02:31any fly away hairs.
