00:14Today I'm double daring myself to try purple eyeshadow. Purple is my favorite color but I am a little bit
00:20nervous to try it on my eyelids.
00:22What is it about purple that makes you so nervous to you? I just feel like when it's done wrong
00:27it looks like a bruise.
00:28Okay. Generally I find when ladies use a purple color if it has a gold fleck in it it actually
00:35will look nicer on the eye and maybe bring out more of the blue in your eye.
00:38Great. Maybe we'll try that.
00:40Applying a loose powder underneath will catch any of the fallen shadows so therefore you won't have that darkness around
00:46the eye that will make you look like you have a bruise.
00:49Using a short brush, a firmer brush and apply the purple eyeshadow on the lid. You should have had it
00:56so it gives it a nice intensity.
01:00And right up to the edge. Using a purple shadow with a gold fleck in it brightens up the eye
01:06so it doesn't look bruise and also bring out the blue in your eye.
01:09It's a very soft brush for a little blending just along the edge. A smaller brush will give you a
01:16little bit more detail and bring it in tighter right underneath.
01:21Starting from the outside inward. Be sure to connect the corners to give it a nice lift. Sweep away any
01:28of the shadows that have fallen.
01:33Now take a look. Oh I like that. It gives you a nice smoky eye with a touch of purple.
01:37Brightens the eye with a little bit of the gold fleck so it doesn't feel like you have a bruise
01:41now.
01:41I like it. So we'll finish it off with a little mascara. So here's the brush for you. Now you're
01:48going to mimic this.
01:49Okay. So apply a little loose powder underneath. Catch any falling shadow. Use the firm brush.
01:58Bring it up just a little bit more. There you go. Perfect. Underneath you can use a little firmer brush.
02:05Perfect. Nice fresh mascara.
02:10So how do you feel now about using purples? I really like it. I thought I was going to look
02:15kind of like a corpse and I don't.
