Some runway trends walk a fine line when it comes to working them into our own wardrobe. Case in point: chains. One false move and you could easily end up sporting an '80s punk ensemble. But, after spotting the subtle tough-girl details at Edun's fall '13 presentation, we knew we could get the accents without going overboard.

00:06Hi, I'm Chloe with Refinery29, and today we'll be making a chain embellished sweater that's inspired by Eden's 2013 fall
00:14collection.
00:14What you'll need is a crew neck sweater, jump rings, chains, needle nose pliers, and wire cutters.
00:23So for your first step, I'm going to take the chain, and I'm going to be putting it along and
00:28weaving it through the armholes,
00:30and I'm going to pull it down almost to about where the armpit is, maybe two inches above,
00:38and take my wire cutters and snip the chain right there.
00:43Then I'm going to go ahead and cut 13 more of these pieces, and they're going to be all next
00:47to each other, woven into the sides.
00:50Next, I'm going to take my jump rings, and I'm going to take one of them, take my pliers, and
00:57open it just slightly,
00:59and then take one of the chains and loop it through, and then still holding it, I'm going to go
01:06in, turn the edge of the sweater up to the inside,
01:11and then hook it right at the very top, hook some of the thread through, hold it there, and then
01:18just pinch close.
01:25Now I'm going to go and start weaving it through, and I'm just going to pull the chain up through,
01:32and then over, and then back through again.
01:38So once I've woven it through, I'm going to take another jump ring, open it up, and then clamp it
01:43to the sweater like I did at the top.
01:47So once you've attached your first chain, you want to go ahead and repeat the step on each sleeve about
01:54seven times, depending on your sweater,
01:56and I'm just going to evenly space them out, start threading them through, and attaching them.
02:00And that's it. This is a super easy way to add some subtle hardware details into a really basic sweater.
02:08The next.
02:09Help me see you back there.
02:15Mr.
02:16Of a Oh God.
02:16No wonder.
02:17Ernest.
