Spring may be technically here, but it'll be a long time before we venture outdoors without a topper to protect against the vicious chill.

00:06Hi guys, I'm Chloe with Refinery29 and today we'll be taking a basic baseball cap and
00:11embellishing it. At Fashion Week we saw so many caps on the street and so we're
00:16gonna go ahead and make ours with a little bit of punk inspiration today.
00:19Let's get started. You'll need a basic baseball cap, metallic spray paint, masking
00:24tape, a studded chain, a tarp, and a glue gun. This DIY can get a little messy so I
00:32went ahead and put a tarp down just for the surface to paint on and then you'll
00:36want to go ahead and take your masking tape and cover the velcro part before you
00:40start painting the actual hat. I'm going to take my spray paint now and do about
00:45two coats over the hat. Obviously you want to shake it first and I got this hat at
00:53Michaels for three dollars so it's very inexpensive DIY. So I put my two coats on
00:59and I let it dry for about half an hour so now I'm going to go ahead and take the
01:02tape off and start putting the studs on the front. Then I'm going to keep gluing
01:10around the edge and about every inch or so just to secure it and that's it so
01:21quick and easy. Now that the weather is warming up it's a great alternative to
01:25the beanie you've been wearing all winter and it's just a fun accessory to pop on at the last minute.
