Fashion Week might be in February, but for anyone who considers sequins and tulle to be the key to happiness, the figure-skating events happening during next month's Winter Olympics probably trump all. The Donatella and Karl of Sochi are, of course, Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir, two former Olympians who really made the ice rink their personal runways. As official commentators and analysts for NBC this year, the BFF duo needed to swap their spandex and rhinestones for something that paired a little bit better with headsets and news desks — and that's where we came in. Refinery29 editors Connie Wang and Kelly Bourdet walked Lipinski and Weir through a few workwear style tips that'd make 'em shine on camera and then got a few lessons on what to wear from the other side of the mic as well. Yes, folks, a sparkle crotch was involved. Press play to see us all going for the gold.

00:03Boys in finger skating have to wear pants. You can't wear tights. It's against the rule because
00:07there was this Russian guy and he wore them and they were white and it was full visual.
00:17Hi, welcome to Refinery29. I'm Connie Wang, the style director. I'm with Kelly Bourdais,
00:21our health and fitness editor. And today we're with two Olympians who really need no introduction.
00:26We've got Tara Lipinski and Johnny Weir. So you guys are starting this fantastic exciting
00:30new role as the official NBC broadcasters and analysts for the Sochi Olympics. Is that right?
00:36Yes. Yes. You know, it's a really fun opportunity to show our personalities and bring some fresh
00:41voices to figure out. So now that you're in our turf, basically we're going to give you a little
00:45bit of, not that you need any style advice, but like how to dress like a Refinery29 editor
00:49and then hopefully you guys will return the favor for us. We'd love that. I've never had an office
00:53job. I don't know how to do the Excel spreadsheets or graphs or text or anything.
00:58We'll let her do it.
01:03You guys look great. I love it. Thanks. I feel like I'm ready to fax.
01:07You know, we're doing it for us, right? We're going to get dressed in your work clothes.
01:12Are you ready? So I don't see any blazers or button-ups or there's going to be a little
01:17bit more sparkle. Just think of these as Snuggies, basically. This is, I performed to
01:23Born This Way by Lady Gaga. I did full sparkle crotch because, you know, that's where babies
01:27come from and my baby would be sparkly. The fur on it, my mother-in-law actually gave me. She
01:32ripped it off of a coat and said, use this in the costume. It's full Liberace style.
01:36Cool. I wore this a few years ago and I'm more simple. I'm more about the...
01:42The sweater skirt?
01:43Yeah, but the lines, you know, because I'm tiny. So I like it to, the skirt, the way it cinches
01:48in
01:49and then it's nice and light and I'm a big pastel girl.
01:53Ice skaters, please enter.
01:56You look like an ice skater.
01:58Here's my sparkle crotch.
02:01Ready to write some articles?
02:02I'm ready.
02:03Let's go upstairs.
02:04Come on in.
02:05Come on.
02:06You're in charge of Excel today. All of Excel. Just make the Excels happen for Refinery.
02:11Where am I in charge?
02:12The internet.
02:13Siri, turn on computer.
02:15I need someone to make a copy of this.
02:18Oh, there you go.
02:22Johnny, where are you going?
02:24I have to copy this so I'll get fired.
02:26So that concludes my presentation. I know Johnny is going to give his thoughts on some upcoming trends.
02:31First of all, cactus. Cactus juice. The color of a cactus. Cactus pricklies. You know, acupuncture.
02:38Pomegranates. It's all about pomegranates. It's all about yaks and Mongolia. Can you show them
02:42Mongolia for me? Yaks. Ceiling is always good, but with lovely shoes.
