00:00When do you become unapologetic and own that voice and not care about what anyone else thinks?
00:04Does that come with age or is that something that we can fuel?
00:08I'd love some advice on that.
00:11I'd love some advice on not caring what people think and becoming unapologetic
00:15because I say I'm sorry all the time and I'm almost 29
00:19and I'm the age that Billie Jean was in this time period
00:22and the thing that has been such a great gift that I'm slowly coming into,
00:28I don't know if any of you believe in astrology, but it's my Saturn return,
00:37is like I have this tendency, and I sort of was talking about this in a talk we had earlier
00:43today
00:44about I really fixate on the mistakes that I've made,
00:48the choices I wish I could make differently now,
00:50that now that I know more, when you know better, you do better.
00:53There are things that I just beat myself up about and I wish I had done perfectly
00:57and I wish my whole life track record was perfect
01:01and then I could really stand up for things and really speak out
01:04and I'll just sit up and go, oh, but what about that time and this?
01:10And then the thing that I'm coming into and the thing that was so amazing about playing Billie Jean
01:15is kind of what Valerie was talking about, that there can be so much going on within you.
01:21There can be, and Billie Jean says that you're still afraid today.
01:25Oh, yeah, I am.
01:26Every day.
01:26Every day.
01:27And that you can be afraid, that you can be flawed, that you can be imperfect,
01:32that you can really have made choices that you wish you could do differently,
01:37but you didn't, and still have a voice, still speak out for what's right,
01:42and keep listening and keep growing and keep changing.
01:45And so I don't feel unapologetic yet.
01:47I don't feel like I don't care what anybody thinks,
01:50but I feel like I'm on my way to being braver and more courageous.
01:57And I honestly, truly, it's going to make me choked up.
02:01Thank Billie Jean for that because she taught me so much about that.
02:07It was, like, pretty.
