00:00Hi guys! I'm Sarah and I am totally obsessed with Game of Thrones. I have
00:05been following the show since day one. I've read all of the books. One of my
00:10favorite characters in the series is Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, the
00:15most badass woman on TV right now. One of the really cool things about Daenerys
00:20is her hair. Hashtag hair goals. Today I picked out three of my favorite Daenerys
00:26Targaryen braided looks. The first is a simple double braid, the second is a
00:31four braided simple twist, and the third is a braided bun. And they're actually much
00:36easier than they look on the TV show and I think you can do it with just a little
00:40bit of guidance. First things first, make sure your wig is on your head properly by
00:44using a wig cap. This one is net based but any wig cap will do. Place the cap over
00:49your hair lining up the top of the cap with your natural hairline. Make sure to
00:54tuck any of those little hairs around your ears and neck under the elastic as
00:57possible. Secure your wig along your natural hairline and make one more tuck
01:04to make sure no small hairs are flying out. Now on to the braid. Start the first
01:10braid by making a one-inch box at the corner of your part and split that hair
01:14into three sections. Make sure to separate the hair the entire length of the wig
01:19to prevent potential knots when braiding. Hold the separated piece of hair
01:23towards the back of your head and start braiding as normal. I like to do two
01:28rounds of normal braids to get a nice base. Once you have that base going it's
01:33time to start your Dutch braid. Simply grab a piece of hair from along your part
01:37as you're going under the braid and incorporate it into that piece. I tend to
01:42use just one finger to do this but you can also use your opposite hand to grab the
01:47hair if you think you can grab cleanly with just one finger. For this first braid
01:51only grab from the side of the braid closest to your part. When you've reached
01:57the crown of your head, on this wig it was where the natural part ended, you can
02:01stop grabbing those extra pieces and finish off with a simple three strand
02:05braid all the way down. Pro tip, try the braid as far down as possible. You're gonna
02:11want that length for the next two looks. Once you're at the bottom tie off the braid
02:15with a clear hair tie and repeat on the other side.
02:31For the next look we're gonna keep the braid we have and add one Dutch braid to
02:35either side. You can follow the same basic steps as before but this time take the
02:40hair from both sides of the braid. Take the section of hair about halfway between
02:45your ear and the first braid. Split the hair in three and start braiding, grabbing
02:50sections of hair as you go.
03:00After you've completed the second row braids and cleaned up any stray hairs, we
03:04can move on to the fun part. Take the two new braids and join them in an X shape at
03:09the center of your head. Take two blonde colored bobby pins and pin
03:15them together. Try to get through the braids and hide the bobby pins inside
03:19them. Make an X with your bobby pins. It will hold way longer that way. Take the
03:24left-hand side braid, that one we did earlier, and wrap it around those two
03:29braids going over the structure.
03:35Pin that into place. Take the right-hand braid and wrap it around those two going
03:41under. And then pin that into place. This asymmetry makes the hair look snake-like, or
03:55dragon-like if you ask me.
03:59Okay, one more look using these same braids. Here I'm just removing the bobby pins I
04:03used in the last look, so don't mind me. Now you've got four clean braids to work
04:08with. Find the center of your head, a friend is great help here, and mark it
04:13with your fingertip. Take one of the lower braids and wrap it around where your
04:17finger is, tucking in the loose hairs under the braid itself. Use bobby pins to
04:24keep it in place. Now take that second braid on the other side and wrap it around
04:31the circle you just made. Again, you want to tuck any wandering hairs under the braid
04:36bun. Pins are your best friends here. Take one of the top braids and wrap it
04:43around the bottom of the bun. This will likely not make a complete circle, so just
04:48keep pinning and hiding. The last remaining braid is actually going to be our
04:53topper. So instead of going below the bun, we're going to take this braid and make a
04:57small circle in the middle. Tuck whatever free hair you have into the center of the
05:02bun and pin. This is pretty hard to see by yourself, so have a friend help you check
05:09your centering, or use your selfie skills in a mirror to check it out yourself.
05:14And you're all set. You've got the last Daenerys Targaryen look. So there you have it.
05:19Three easy looks to channel your inner mother of dragons. So get out there this
05:24Halloween, or really any time, and slay. But not dragons. That's not funny.
