00:00What if your entire business was built around selling merchandise that might not have been
00:04obtained through entirely legitimate means?
00:06And what if every customer walking through your door could either make you a fortune
00:11or drag you into a dangerous conflict?
00:13Well that's the premise behind probably stolen Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim, a new cyberpunk
00:19management game that's now available on Windows PC through Steam.
00:23If you've ever wanted to run a questionable business in a futuristic space station filled
00:27with corruption, competing factions, and customers who might be more dangerous than they initially
00:32appear, this could be a game worth keeping an eye on.
00:36Developed around the idea of operating a shop in a society where the line between legitimate
00:40business and criminal activity is becoming increasingly blurry, probably stolen puts players in the
00:46role of a former scavenger who has managed to secure a storefront on a massive space station.
00:51However, getting the keys to the business is only the beginning.
00:54You've taken out a loan to get started.
00:56Your rent is climbing and the station's various factions are paying attention to what you're
01:01doing.
01:01In other words, you're trying to build a profitable business in a place where making money and
01:06staying out of trouble might not always go hand in hand.
01:09The game's title Probably Stolen gives you a pretty good idea of the sort of merchandise
01:13you'll be dealing with.
01:15This isn't necessarily the kind of shop where every item comes with a perfectly documented
01:19history and a receipt proving that everything was acquired legally.
01:23Instead, your inventory exists in a world of questionable origins and legal grey areas.
01:29That opens the door to a management experience where deciding what to sell can be just as important
01:34as deciding how much to charge.
01:36After all, a product might look like an excellent opportunity to make a profit, but that doesn't
01:40mean selling it is necessarily the smartest move.
01:44And that's where Probably Stolen starts to distinguish itself from a more straightforward
01:48shopkeeping simulator.
01:50According to the game's description, you never really know who's standing on the other
01:54side of the counter.
01:55One customer might simply be looking for a useful item while another could be a security
01:59operative searching for evidence.
02:01Someone else might be a revolutionary looking for leverage or a member of the fallen elite
02:06trying to determine whether your business could be useful to them.
02:10Every customer has the potential to become something more than just another transaction,
02:14which means you can't necessarily judge a sale by the amount of money it brings in.
02:19Imagine a customer walking into your shop with an offer that could generate a substantial
02:23profit.
02:24Under normal circumstances, you might simply accept the deal and move on to the next person
02:28in line.
02:29But what if that customer is connected to a faction that could threaten your business later?
02:33What if the merchandise attracts unwanted attention from station security?
02:37And what if refusing the sale creates a different kind of problem?
02:41These are the kinds of situations the game's premise is designed to explore.
02:45Instead of treating every customer as an easy source of income, you're being asked to consider
02:49the possible consequences of doing business with the wrong person.
02:53The game's description highlights several choices that can shape these encounters.
02:58You can approve a transaction, refuse it, report the customer, or simply look the other
03:02way.
03:03Each option potentially changes the situation, and the decision isn't always going to be
03:08as simple as choosing between making money and following the rules.
03:11Reporting a suspicious customer might help you maintain a relationship with the authorities,
03:15but it could also create enemies.
03:17Refusing a potentially dangerous transaction might protect you in one situation while costing
03:22you a valuable opportunity in another.
03:25And approving a deal could provide the cash your business needs, only for the consequences
03:29to catch up with you later.
03:32Another important part of the experience is reputation.
03:35In a place where different factions are competing for influence, how people perceive your business
03:40can determine what opportunities become available to you.
03:43A strong reputation might provide access to useful contacts, better protection, or opportunities
03:49that would otherwise remain out of reach.
03:51But there's a catch.
03:52Becoming more visible can make you a bigger target.
03:54The more people know who you are and what you're doing, the more likely it is that someone
03:59will decide your business is worth investigating, exploiting, or shutting down.
04:03Building a reputation could therefore become a balancing act between gaining influence and
04:08attracting unwanted attention.
04:11That combination of sharp management and faction politics is what makes Probably Stolen
04:15an interesting concept.
04:17Plenty of management games challenge players to keep a business profitable, manage resources,
04:22and satisfy customers.
04:23Here however, the challenge also involves understanding the world around you and recognizing that not
04:29every profitable opportunity is worth pursuing.
04:32You're not simply trying to sell as many products as possible.
04:35You're trying to keep your business alive in a setting where money, information, loyalty,
04:40and protection can all be connected.
04:43The Cyberpunk setting also seems like a natural fit for these mechanics.
04:47Stories in this game frequently explore societies divided by wealth, corruption, and competing
04:52interests where ordinary people are forced to navigate systems that don't necessarily
04:57work in their favor.
04:58Probably Stolen places you in the middle of that kind of environment, but rather than making
05:02you a conventional action hero tasked with saving the world, it gives you a much more
05:07practical objective.
05:08Keep the shop running, pay your bills, and figure out how to survive while everyone around
05:12you seems to want something.
05:14And let's be honest, there's something entertaining about the idea of trying to become a successful
05:19shopkeeper in a place where even a routine business transaction could turn into a political
05:24problem.
05:24Your biggest challenge might not be finding customers, it might be figuring out which
05:28customers you can actually afford to have.
05:32Of course, the actual experience will depend on how well the game executes these ideas.
05:36A premise built around difficult decisions needs choices that feel meaningful, and a shopkeeping
05:41simulator needs enough depth to keep its management systems engaging over time.
05:46It will be interesting to see how much variety the different customers, factions, and possible
05:51decisions provide, as well as how successfully the game balances the day-to-day running of
05:56a store with the larger conflicts taking place around it.
05:59The concept certainly offers room for some memorable situations, but players will ultimately want to see
06:04those systems working together in practice.
06:07The good news for anyone interested in checking it out is that Probably Stolen's Cyberpunk Shopkeeper
06:12Sim is now available for Windows PC on Steam.
06:15At launch, the game is being offered at a 10% discount for the first two weeks, giving interested
06:20players a limited time opportunity to pick it up for less than its regular price.
06:24Be sure to check out the store page for the current price, discount availability, and any
06:28additional details before purchasing.
06:31So what do you think about Probably Stolen's Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim?
06:35Does the combination of shopkeeping, questionable merchandise, and decisions involving real factions
06:40sound like an interesting twist on the management genre?
06:43Or would you rather stick with a more traditional business simulator where selling a product doesn't
06:47potentially put a target on your back?
06:49Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
06:52I'd be interested to hear whether this is the kind of game you'd want to try, especially
