00:09and today we're going to be testing out Ilamasqua's new rubber nail varnishes.
00:14What is a rubber nail varnish, you may ask? Well, it is this really awesome thing which
00:18makes your nails look like they have bits of rubber attached to them, which is a lot
00:21cooler than it sounds. It does this thing where it combines a jelly finish and a matte finish,
00:28and turns it into this thing that's all really, really, really special and fun to look at.
00:33So it retails for $14 at Sephora and comes in 10 colors, and I have six of them right here.
00:39So let's play around with them. So I fiddled around with this a little before, and I know
00:44now that you should probably use a base coat if you want to use these, just because these
00:48polishes tend to stain a little bit. So let's play around with them. Let's go with, I'll
00:55do blue first. The polishes go on just like any other polish. So for a jelly polish, which
01:06this is half of, the polishes are pretty opaque, so you don't need too many coats.
01:22And the first coat is pretty much dry, so I'm going to go over it one more time.
01:29Now, they're going to look dry, and they're going to feel dry, but don't touch them. I
01:34made the mistake last time I did it, and I have ruined all my nails, and I have to start
01:38over again. So they're kind of dry to the touch, but that does not mean that they're
01:42dry. They just feel rubbery, which means they're working.
01:46So once it's dry, it looks like this. And you can go ahead and put a top coat on it
01:51if you want, but I would rather not, just because it makes it a little bit shiny, and
01:55that defeats the purpose of having rubber nails in the first place. But since the LaMask
01:59was already a really high-end brand with a really strong formula, I find that it tends
02:04to just last without the top coat anyways. The blue and the green and also the purple,
02:09I didn't use that one because I only have five fingers, they tend to look the most rubbery.
02:14If you look, the red and the pink kind of just look like dull nails. So if you're going to
02:20buy one of them, I suggest going for the blues and the greens and the purples, like I said.
02:25I give this a pass. It's just a really fun option if you are a nail art enthusiast, and you
02:31already have the mats, you have the jellies, you have just the regular colors, you know,
02:34why not get something like this for $14? It's a pretty impactful nail varnish to have.
02:42I really don't have anything bad to say about this one, so pass.
