00:00Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces a fight for political survival in the country's
00:05election on Tuesday, October 27. Voters weigh his leadership after the 2023 Hamas-led attacks,
00:12the wars in Gaza and on Iran, as well as Israel's deepening international isolation.
00:17Opinion polls show a close race between Netanyahu's Likud party and its right-wing
00:21allies and a rival alliance led by Gadi Eisenkot. Eisenkot is a former military
00:26chief of staff and security Hawk with backers on the right and in the center.
00:31Netanyahu banks on his wartime leadership and his alliance with US President Donald Trump,
00:35who endorsed him and joined Israel in waging war on Iran. Netanyahu said on Sunday that Trump was
00:40prepared to act again to finally remove the Iranian threat but only if Netanyahu remained in power.
00:46Eisenkot accuses Netanyahu of relying on a campaign of fear-mongering, lies and threats and says he was
