03:16We'll begin with an update on cyclone Arnab.
03:19Gaining strength over the Bay of Bengal, according to the Met Department,
03:23this will intensify into a very severe cyclonic storm by tomorrow, by Tuesday.
03:28And in view of the Arnab cyclone being formed, two states are on high alert, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
03:35They are expected to face the brunt of the cyclone, also parts of Tamil Nadu.
03:40Andhra Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu has issued orders for the state machinery to be on high alert.
03:45A virtual review meet was also held by the Chief Minister, where he got a sense of really what other
03:51kind of preparations are on ground.
03:52What exactly will be the spot of landfall?
03:56Now, this particular storm, the cyclone is called Arnab.
04:00It's expected to cross the Andhra Pradesh-Yanam coast by Wednesday forenoon.
04:04Winds expected to pick up pace right up to 140 kilometres per hour.
04:09South Odisha, coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh, they're on high alert.
04:13There's a possibility of flooding, but it is largely because of the wind speeds that there is a high alert
04:18that's been sounded.
04:19I'll bring in Pooja Shali to give you a sense of really where the cyclone is and which parts of
04:26Andhra and Odisha will be impacted.
04:28Pooja, over to you.
04:29So, we've been tracking the latest that's coming in about Cyclone Arnab.
04:34And what we see, as you can see here, the deep depression over the east central, especially on the Bay
04:39of Bengal.
04:40Now, what are we witnessing?
04:41We've been tracking at least not just the past few hours, but the next two days as well.
04:45So, here's what we are told.
04:47By today itself, the cyclone, the cyclonic storm is going to turn severe.
04:52Tomorrow, it's going to be very severe.
04:54The three states that are going to be impacted as the cyclonic storm moves northwestwards,
04:59Bengal, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh specifically are three states that are already facing red alert by the administration.
05:07Bhuvaneshwar, which is closer to Gopalpur, is where the impact is going to be seen.
05:12Vishakhapatnam is definitely on a red alert.
05:14But what the authorities are doing, they're aiming for zero casualties here.
05:18Evacuation already has happened.
05:19Remember when the cyclonic storm expected to make a landfall on 28th October.
05:24But before that, two days ahead of that already, we are witnessing high winds.
05:29And when I say high winds, it could go up to about 120 to 150 kilometers per hour.
05:33And that is why all measures and preparedness are being checked.
05:37Their armed forces are on alert.
05:39Farmers have been, fishermen have been told not to venture into the sea.
05:42And all sorts of preparedness are being done with regard to precautionary measures.
05:47As you can see, that as this deep depression moves northwestwards,
05:51these are specific coastal areas, including the Yemen coast in Puducherry.
05:55All of that could face the impact of heavy rainfall as well.
05:59Akshita, over to you.
06:00Thanks very much, Pooja, for that update.
06:02You see that yellow band that Pooja is highlighting.
06:04That's not the eye of the storm.
06:06But it's when those bands really hit the coast that you'll see maximum rainfall
06:10and you will see wind speeds picking up.
06:12It's expected that tomorrow and the day after will be rough times for the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh.
06:17I'll bring in Apoorva Jayachandran.
06:19She's joining us live from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.
06:22Apoorva is going to be tracking what is the impact of the cyclone in different coastal parts of the state.
06:28Apoorva, give us a sense of the preparations on ground.
06:31I know today there's been no sign of the cyclone.
06:33But come tomorrow, it's expected to be dark, gloomy days ahead.
06:40Well, that's right, Akshita.
06:42In fact, if you can see today, luckily, there haven't been any kind of rains.
06:46Rather, because of the moisture surge all towards the ocean region, the seaside as well,
06:53this entire area, Kakinada, towards Yanam and Vishakapandam, where the landfall is likely expected,
06:58it has been quite bright and sunny.
07:01But towards the evening, even as we've just entered, you know, it's become a lot chillier and gloomier in weather
07:07-wise as well.
07:07And what we are getting to learn is that it will, only the next 24 to 48 hours, it looks
07:12like it will worsen.
07:13As it has been reported that cyclone Arnav will turn into a very severe cyclonic storm as well.
07:19Apart from this, we're also getting to learn that the Andhra Pradesh government has also made various efforts that will
07:24be taking place.
07:25In fact, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Narachandra Babu Naidu, has been in constant touch with the officials regarding what must
07:31be taking place as well.
07:32Four NDRF teams that have been deployed, two constantly deployed in Konasima, Kakinada and Inandaran areas,
07:38where one each have been deployed in areas where they need help as well.
07:42Navy as well as several other police officials have also been deployed to these areas as well.
07:49Evacuation efforts, as far as right now we're concerned, pregnant ladies, elderly people, those who need medical care and medical
07:56attention,
07:56should anything go sideways, all of them have been safely evacuated and pushed to medical camps as well.
08:03The government does predict and the IMD does predict the next 24 hours is likely to get all the more
08:08chaotic before the landfall happens.
08:11Okay, so the next 24 hours crucial.
08:13You know, in the last few months and years, we've been handling these disasters very carefully.
08:19We've been very, very prepared for these kind of cyclones and storms, ensuring timely evacuation.
08:24Let's hope that's the case with Cyclone Arnab as well.
08:26Thanks, Apoorva, for those details.
08:28I'm going to cut across to more breaking news coming in.
08:37With the monsoon kicking off in Tamil Nadu with unprecedented rainfall,
08:42Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has also visited the Chambrabakham Lake to review flood prevention measures and prepared this for
08:48heavy rainfall.
08:49Now, this comes even as we've already seen heavy torrential downpour in several pockets of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai.
08:57And so the Chambrabakham Lake, which remember years ago when we saw flooding in Chennai where the city literally went
09:03underwater,
09:04it was because of the Chambrabakham Lake and the lake breaching.
09:07In this particular case, Chief Minister Vijay, therefore, is looking at what really the inflow is like currently
09:13and the preparations made by officials to ensure there is no repeat of that kind of a situation.
09:17There is a forecast of more heavy rainfall coming Chennai's way.
09:21And so the government is trying to ensure they are fully prepared.
09:24There have been a lot of questions on whether the TVK government has been better prepared
09:28than, in fact, the predecessor when it comes to rainfall, when it comes to the monsoon.
09:32Well, so far with the heavy rainfall we've seen, we have seen some incidents of flooding.
09:36But the government is saying that they have been proactively ensuring that the situation is under control
09:42and that there is no situation where there is unprecedented flooding.
09:56And big breaking news that's coming in from Tamil Nadu.
09:58Kwanbil Mahesh, former Education Minister, DMK leader, has been arrested.
10:02This is in connection with a 100 crore corruption case.
10:06He's been accused of receiving 100 crores in bribes for granting approvals to private schools.
10:12He had filed for anticipatory bail that was shot down by the Madras High Court
10:16and so was immediately taken into custody.
10:18Those are images on your screen, sir, of the former minister being taken into custody,
10:23putting up a brave face, so all smiles as he's taken aid.
10:26But this is, let's be very, very clear, trouble for Anbil Mahesh,
10:30who's been accused of pocketing 100 crores by promising that private schools
10:36would get the necessary approvals from the government to go ahead and set up in Tamil Nadu.
10:40He was the Education Minister, so these are grave allegations against him.
10:44Pramod Madhav is joining us live from Chennai with more details on this.
10:47Pramod, big trouble this for the DMK.
10:50Anbil Mahesh, former minister, someone who is the closest aide to Udenidi Stalin
10:54being taken into custody.
11:03Is that like you could actually see, you know, the people are all present at this location.
11:07This is at the Greater Chennai City Corporation, a three commissioner office,
11:11and police very clearly are not allowing any kind of like DMK cadres at this particular location.
11:15They are not allowing any kind of like DMK cadres at this particular location.
11:18The important aspect, just like you mentioned,
11:19Anbil Mahesh is a very, very important leader when it comes to DMK
11:23and he's one of the trusted lieutenants of the, you know, leader of the opposition,
11:27that is Udenidi Stalin.
11:28And what happened is that, just like you mentioned,
11:29his anticipatory bail was rejected by the Midrash High Court.
11:32And within hours, he has been arrested and has been brought in over here.
11:35Now, DMK cadres over here, including Prasanna, who was present earlier,
11:38also says that they are not aware as to where he is
11:40and they are demanding that they want to meet Anbil Mahesh,
11:42but that is not being allowed.
11:44Very clearly, we've been told that he'll be taken for a medical checkup post-witch to the prison as well.
11:48But these are like, we are waiting for confirmation on this matter.
11:50The important aspect is that, like, what happened in the court,
11:53as far as like we got the information is that
11:55one more accused in this particular case is absconding.
11:58And Anbil Mahesh is apparently being blamed for that particular issue
12:01and that is why it looks like, you know,
12:03the argument went over the anticipatory bail issue today morning.
12:07However, as it was rejected, now the traditional police have arrested Anbil Mahesh right now, Akshita.
12:14Okay, so he's been taken into custody.
12:16The investigation will move forward.
12:17The Midrash High Court refusing to provide him protection from arrest.
12:21We'll track the latest that comes in on this.
12:23The DMK already crying political conspiracy,
12:25crying political vendetta over this particular case.
12:28The TVK says this is the first of many DMK leaders accused of corruption who will face action.
12:34Thanks very much, Pramut, for those details.
12:35Let's move on and talk about the other big factor over the weekend in Tamil Nadu politics.
12:42I'm referring to Dhanush.
12:43He's not launched his political party just yet,
12:45but seems to be making all the moves heading towards that direction.
12:48What did he do over the weekend?
12:50He met over 2,000 members of the women's wing of his fan association,
12:55seen as a woman outreach, which you mostly see politicians doing.
12:58Dhanush had, in fact, sent out a message to them, addressed them as well.
13:02But what it's also sparked is a flurry of political reactions.
13:05You've got the Congress referring to Dhanush as BJP's Plan D.
13:09The TVK welcoming him, saying, look, there's no contest anymore with the DMK,
13:13so we welcome newcomers.
13:15Let's get you all of those reactions.
13:23From the silver screen to the political battlefield,
13:27is actor Dhanush gearing up for a political debut in Tamil Nadu?
13:32The political buzz around Dhanush is rising,
13:35and now his every move is being watched for a possible political signal.
13:47The actor recently met over 3,000 women office bearers and members of his fan club
13:53in a meeting aimed at strengthening the women's wing of the Dhanush Welfare Association across Tamil Nadu.
13:59And that has only fueled the speculation.
14:02Political parties, too, have joined the conversation.
14:05While AIADM care has welcomed Dhanush into politics,
14:10Congress has taken a swipe at the actor, calling him BJP's Plan D.
14:15Dhanush people's voice over the show.
14:17They are captured by the actors,
14:19who are being watched by the actors and was earning the stars,
14:24for their fans.
14:24They are attracted to the farmers.
14:26They are dominated by the Dhanush community.
14:28There are some GRANT people who have heard of the actors and her life,
14:36so we can make pictures and see them.
14:39We do work as well.
14:40We do work as efektivist and then we do work as well.
14:41We do work as well.
14:42We do work as well.
14:42We do work as well,
14:44and we do work as well.
14:51The political sparring comes days after Tamil Nadu Minister Adhavarjuna suggested that Thanos could enter politics.
15:22So, is this just a fan club building its reach, or the beginning, of a new political party?
15:29But until Dhanush himself makes an announcement, his political plans remain just that, speculation.
15:36Bureau Report, India Today.
15:42Now, a lot of questions during the rounds on whether Dhanush actually will take the poll plunge or not.
15:46He definitely seems to be making all of the moves towards that kind of an announcement.
15:50But let me open this up. Joining us on this broadcast, we've got Akshat Ram, Mr. Sumansi Raman and Mr.
15:55Murali Dharan, political analysts on this broadcast.
15:58Mr. Sumansi Raman, I'd like to begin with you.
16:00We've done endless discussions, really, on Dhanush already.
16:02He's not made his announcement just yet, but there's so much speculation on what it could bring, really, into politics
16:08in Tamil Nadu.
16:09What do you make of the Congress suggesting that Dhanush is being plugged into politics by the BJP, sir?
16:16Akshita, first of all, if you want to tarnish anybody's name in Tamil Nadu, the first thing that they will
16:23tell you is you're a stooge of the BJP.
16:24That is seen as some kind of a slur.
16:28And therefore, the same strategy or tactic seems to be applied to Dhanush.
16:34Now, whether he is going to enter politics or not, certainly he is posturing in that direction.
16:41Is he going to come on his own?
16:43Is he going to be propped up by an existing political party?
16:46There are too many things which are unknown at this stage.
16:51What one can say with some level of certainty is that Dhanush is not as big a star as Vijay.
16:58He doesn't have the kind of a fan base that Vijay has.
17:01And also, very importantly, I'm not too sure whether today's, you know, whether it's going to be possible for him
17:09to start from scratch,
17:11you know, a political movement and then make it into a political party.
17:16Obviously, Vijay's success has encouraged many other actors to give it a shot.
17:21And it's on that basis that he is coming in.
17:24Also, would he be able to get his father-in-law's blessing or support?
17:31That's something which we do not know as well.
17:33So, there are too many imponderables and I think right now, while it's, you know, interesting to sort of speculate,
17:41I think that's all that it remains is just speculation.
17:44The suggestion is, Akshat, that if Dhanush enters politics, the competition will be for DMK.
17:51Because the TVK says that, look, there's a fatigue with the Dravidian parties, with the DMK.
17:55So, we welcome any new competition, any fresh competition that comes in.
18:00Is the DMK, therefore, going to be rather worried that if Dhanush enters, look, here's another star who will have
18:05a certain amount of star appeal.
18:07You could argue that it's not as much as Vijay, but still will have a star appeal.
18:11And therefore, further erode DMK's vote base.
18:15Sir, thank you so much for having me on your show.
18:17This is the democratic country.
18:18Anybody gets to start their own party.
18:20Anybody gets to join electoral politics.
18:22And everybody has the right to put themselves out there in the front.
18:27But let's be very honest.
18:28We're talking about a party that has seen 70 odd years in election.
18:32This is not the first actor we are seeing.
18:34We have seen M.G. Ramachandran.
18:36We have seen Jailalita.
18:37We have seen S.V. Shekhar.
18:38We have seen Gautami.
18:40We have seen Shivaji Ganeshan.
18:42We have seen all kinds of stars.
18:44Who has defeated the DMK.
18:48Failures and successes in elections are common in a democracy.
18:53Let's not get way ahead of ourselves.
18:55Let's see how this government performs for the next five years before we decide whether this is a party to
19:01reckon with for the rest of Tamil Nadu's political future.
19:04But coming back to my point, this is just the beginning of, you know, this sort of conspiracy theory that
19:12the TVK likes to build because they think that the DMK is defeated.
19:16But let's be, if the by-election results are any indication, if anything else is an indication, we are, I
19:24think the DMK is getting itself ready to sit in opposition and to fight the TVK upright in the front.
19:30Today they're the leading party in opposition.
19:32Let them do their job.
19:33No, but that's exactly it, Akshata.
19:35You look at the by-poll results.
19:36You look at what happened months ago.
19:38All of that suggests that there is a fatigue.
19:41What are you saying, Akshata?
19:43Look at the by-election results and look at how the elections have panned out.
19:47Look at how much votes the DMK has secured.
19:49Look at the vote percentage that the DMK has secured.
19:52The DMK, if this concept that the TVK is beyond defeat and the TVK is a party that is here
20:01to stay for a long time, then they should have performed much better than they have actually performed.
20:06I think Dhanush's entry into political, this thing is his personal ambition.
20:11Now, as Mr. Sumanth Ram said, if whether Mr. Rajanikanth is going to support him or not, there are multiple
20:17factors to be considered.
20:18I agree with Mr. Sumanth when he says that, you know, Dhanush does not have the same fan base as
20:23Vijay does.
20:24But to say that this is a replacement for the DMK is just very hilarious.
20:30We have seen enough defeat and we have seen enough victories.
20:32We will bounce back better.
20:33Mr. Murali, what do you think?
20:35Do you think that Dhanush stands no chance or like the TVK says, you know, this is going to eat
20:40up the void created as a result of DMK not being chosen by the people?
20:48Akshay, can you just come again?
20:49I lost you because there's a call coming in.
20:51Just can you come again, please?
20:52I'm sure, I hope you heard what Akshay said, sir.
20:54My question is a follow-up of his comments where he says that, you know, there's going to be no
20:58impact of Dhanush, especially not for the DMK, that the DMK has nothing to worry about.
21:04Yeah, what I want to say is, Akshay, DMK is going down the hill.
21:10Congratulations to CMBJ and the Tamil Nadu police force for arresting Anbil Maesh.
21:18The Oscar-level performance which he gave in Karur still remains in our mind.
21:24And the first guy, Karap guy, has gone inside.
21:29Next is probably K. Nehru, followed by E.B. Velu, Moorthy, Sekar Babu.
21:34There's a long list.
21:35So, within another few more years, we may not see, what do we say, a DMK.
21:42They're saying there's no DMK.
21:44There'll be no DMK in a few years.
21:46There will not be any DMK.
21:49They will accuse you, sir, of political vendetta then, that it's a political conspiracy.
21:53No, it is not vendetta.
21:55It is justice for the atrocities they committed in the last five years, you know, imprisoning everybody and the media,
22:02etc.
22:02There are a few people who spoke against them in the YouTube, etc.
22:06Everybody was impressed.
22:07So, there was no, you know, fair governance out there.
22:12It was more about dictatorial and speech was muzzled.
22:17And that's what they've been doing.
22:19So, they deserve this.
22:20And Danush sees there's an opportunity because the ADMK today is like headless chicken, right?
22:29And though it was like always being a charismatic leader on top like Jailitha or MGR.
22:37And going forward, and Tamil people love actors, right?
22:40You know, next is Vijay.
22:42Now, next could be a chance for Danush.
22:44And I think even the Sang Parivar realizes that.
22:47And he had come to Delhi, met few leaders and probably, you know, asking for their support.
22:51And probably they'll plant him in ADMK.
22:53So, I don't say no for that.
22:56I mean, I don't deny that, you know, allegation saying that, you know, his plan B of BJP could be
23:01plan B of BJP getting into ADMK and coming forward.
23:07But I think going forward, the fight will be between ADMK and Vijay.
23:14And we welcome Danush coming into ADMK or DMK.
23:17You're saying it's going to be ADMK, but, you know, what's left of the AIA-DMK right now?
23:25They will get into a revival fast.
23:27But from whichever TVK they've already bought you.
23:29They're not as corrupt as DMK.
23:30They're not as corrupt as DMK.
23:32People do not, you know, hate them as much they had the ADMK right now.
23:37No, but Mr. Muralitharan, what you're suggesting, you're suggesting, let's be very clear that the elections, AIA-DMK is a
23:44distant number three.
23:45So, there's no way of suggesting that, you know, people couldn't bear them as much.
23:48They were behind the DMK first.
23:50Second is, corruption charges don't go away just because they're dumping one party and moving to another.
23:54Akshat, your point.
23:57I just wanted to make a quick point about this whole corruption charges and, like, Mr. Muralitharan saying that the
24:03DMK will get wiped out.
24:04But let's, if he also agrees that every ED, every case sheet that the ED has filed has some amount
24:12of truth to it, then the first people to go would be their India Alliance, India Alliance partners, from Mamata
24:18Banerjee to leaders in the Congress, to Akhilesh Yadav, to everybody else.
24:23So, ED and what ED does and how the BJP and the union government uses institutions for political vendetta is
24:30a whole another debate and I'm not going to go there.
24:32Okay. Let's be, let's look at another thing here.
24:35Dhanush's political entry is, as I said before, is welcome because it's a democratic country.
24:41But to say that the DMK is affected by this is hilarious considering the fact that he comes from a
24:47cinema background
24:48and it essentially might eat into one cine actor's watch bank, which is our current chief minister.
24:55So, I can also spin conspiracy theories on national media.
24:57But let's be a little real and practical, I think.
25:00Okay. Final comment, Mr. Sumansi Raman.
25:02Is there any indication you think that's come from Dhanush's end in the manner in which he's carried himself in
25:09the comments that he's made,
25:10that he could be inclining even if not directly with the BJP, but towards the ideology?
25:16Look, Dhanush makes frequent religious visits to various temples and, you know, pilgrimages and so on.
25:26So, that has been very well known for many years, much before the political avatar sort of evolved.
25:33So, I think we have to sort of look at that as some kind of, maybe not direct, but in
25:40some ways a kind of sympathy towards religion and the BJP's sort of core belief kind of system.
25:50Having said that, that alone does not mean that he will be tying up with the BJP because BJP still
25:56has a very negative connotation in Tamil Nadu.
25:58That's why I told you, anybody you want to tar and sort of paint negatively, say that they are a
26:04BJP stooge.
26:05That is a favorite, you know, line of almost all the Dravidian parties and it has worked for until now.
26:11So, I think as far as Dhanush is concerned, we need to give, we need to just wait for at
26:17least another six months to a year to see if he's actually going to follow up on this
26:21and get into active politics and on whose shoulder is the gun going to be fired from and also as
26:29far as, you know, what actions the Vijay government takes in that period.
26:33So, for instance, you know, the actions like today where they've arrested Anubil Mahesh, they are confidence boosters among the
26:44public
26:44because general speculation was, you know, like the DMK did, they hardly took any action against AIA-DMK, AIA-DMK
26:51hardly took any action against DMK.
26:53Now, this has started. And in this case, Akshita, it is a federation of private schools that is a complainant,
26:59170 complaints.
27:00No, but there will be questions, sir, of political conspiracy which is bound to happen, that they are targeting their
27:05political opponents.
27:06Let's show Anubil Mahesh here.
27:07Look, that is very clear that the DMK will come out all guns blazing with the political vendetta charged.
27:13But this case itself seems to be slightly different because it's not the usual he said, she said kind of
27:20a thing.
27:20It's 170 complainants, many of them school management and the federation of private schools who have all gone and given
27:29complaints.
27:29So, to expect all 170 of them to turn hostile during the trial, unless the DMK comes back to power,
27:37I think it's going to be extremely difficult to wriggle out of this one.
27:40Okay, so a lot that's happening in Tamil Nadu politics, including the fact that you've got Anubil Mahesh now being
27:45taken into custody.
27:47And that, of course, changes what happens between the DMK and the TVK because the DMK will take this personally.
27:52He's one of the closest aides of Udiniti's talent. He's now been arrested.
27:56Mr. Sumansi Raman, Mr. Murali Dharan and Akshat Ram, thank you very much for your time, for joining us here
28:00on India Today.
28:01I want to cut across to breaking news coming in.
28:11Actors Vijay Devrakonda and Rashmika Mandana's team have filed a complaint now over alleged fake online narratives.
28:19The representative of the two actors has submitted a formal complaint to the cyber crime authorities in Hyderabad.
28:26They've sought an investigation saying that there's a false, misleading online campaign targeting the actors.
28:33What are they referring to? Well, Rashmika and Vijay Devrakonda appeared in an episode of Coffee with Karan.
28:40I will put out images of that particular episode.
28:42There's been huge controversy over it because there were a lot of comments, a lot of narratives on social media
28:49that said that,
28:50look, Vijay Devrakonda is extremely toxic, that he was ill-treating his wife.
28:54All of this led to a lot of backlash for the couple.
28:58They've clarified on social media, but along with that, their team has also gone ahead and approached the cyber crime
29:05authorities.
29:06The complaint right now suggests that there's fabricated content, manipulated screenshots, impersonation and targeted online harassment that's circulating across social
29:17media platforms.
29:18They want an investigation to find out who's leading this campaign against Rashmika Mandana and Vijay Devrakonda.
29:25So while you're seeing a lot of buzz, a lot of chatter over the couple's appearance in Coffee with Karan
29:31and the manner in which they spoke,
29:34particularly how Vijay Devrakonda behaved with his wife, their actors believe that this is a campaign, a smear campaign of
29:42sorts.
29:43And that's why their team has now approached the cyber cell.
29:50So let's get you a detailed report about this entire controversy.
29:53What was it about their appearance in Coffee with Karan that triggered all of this controversy and chatter on social
30:00media?
30:01Since the comments, since the videos, since the breakdown really of their appearance in the episode,
30:06both Rashmika and Vijay have taken to their social media accounts to respond to some of the criticism.
30:21Well, it seems, Rashmika loves Vijay and Vijay also loves Vijay.
30:32At least, that's the brutal verdict the internet has delivered after Rashmika Mandana and Vijay Devrakonda's much talked about Coffee
30:40with Karan episode.
30:45They came to talk about love, marriage and their journey from co-stars to life partners.
30:53But one revelation about who wanted to get married first has sent social media into overdrive.
31:00Rashmika revealed that she has asked Vijay to marry her over the course of an entire year.
31:05Vijay recalled her repeatedly raising the subject, even joking that she had asked him a hundred times.
31:14Rashmika and Vijay had responded to the criticism surrounding their relationship with a message for those questioning their bond.
31:24Rashmika hit back at the angry mob targeting the couple, clarifying that their decision to marry was never about a
31:32grand proposal or a timeline,
31:33but about choosing to build a life together.
31:39Meanwhile, Vijay issued a heartfelt yet unapologetic response,
31:44emphasizing love, happiness and the importance of standing by the people who matter most.
31:51Well earlier, several viewers found their conversation uncomfortable, with some calling Vijay arrogant and accusing him of disrespecting Rashmika.
32:02Social media users questioned Vijay's response, with some suggesting that the story made Rashmika appear to be chasing commitment while
32:10he took his time deciding.
32:12Others criticized his attitude, while some viewers felt the couple's much-anticipated chemistry did not quite live up to the
32:20expectations.
32:21The episode also drew snarky reactions about their conversational style, with viewers dissecting everything from their exchanges to their body
32:31language.
32:32And just like that, a celebrity love story became the internet's latest relationship debate.
32:40In fact, for years, Vijay has enjoyed a devoted fan following and a carefully cultivated rowdy boy image.
32:47But this time, some viewers weren't buying the charm.
32:59The couple's love story goes back to 2018, when they first shared screen space in Geetha Gomindam.
33:07I just didn't say anything, I think you guys didn't start to playгорdy boy image manager.
33:13I know we got a lot of stuff in here with you.
33:13Oh, you are the one who's gonna play all your games as a champion.
33:16I mean, you can't make any basics in your game anymore, YouTube.
33:20I know you can do that too.
33:21I'm later reunited for dear comrade in 2019.
33:25He got a camera checker in verse 15, he's got a camera checker.
33:27No checker?
33:43Their on-screen pairing fueled speculation about their relationship for years, although
33:50they largely kept their personal lives private.
33:56The actors married in Udaipur on February 26, 2026 in ceremonies celebrating their Telugu
34:04and Korava traditions.
34:14They have since reunited on-screen in Rana Bali, a period action drama directed by Rahul
34:25Sankrityan.
34:30Released in theatres on October 16, the film marked their first on-screen pairing since
34:36their wedding.
34:44With Pranjali Sethi, Entertainment Bureau, India Today.
34:59Welcome back.
35:00Just two weeks after a BVIP car crash in Kerala, another one taking place over a fatal road
35:06accident where a 17-year-old son of an additional district judge was driving a Mercedes Benz
35:13at high speed, rammed into a scooter rider, killing 55-year-old Jayabala Krishnan.
35:18The police investigation found no evidence that the minor was drunk.
35:22The Juvenile Justice Board granted him bail.
35:25And that's what triggered backlash.
35:27That within one hour of him being taken into custody, he was released.
35:31The Kerala government has also now confirmed, acknowledged that there were lapses in the police investigation.
35:37The Kerala Home Minister, Ramesh Chanitala, has assured that the government will now take
35:41strong action.
35:42What's happened after the outreach?
35:45What's happened after the outreach?
35:45Well, considering that the son is a minor, the father, the judge has been booked because
35:49the car was also in the judge's name.
35:55There won't be any excuse in this kind of killings.
35:58This is a culpable homicide, but I will say that these accidents are killings which we cannot
36:07approve.
36:08If there is any lapse in the, in the part of police, we will take action on them.
36:14We all know that those who are below the age of 18 and who doesn't have the driving license,
36:23they get a vehicle to drive under the benevolence of the parents.
36:30So naturally, they are influential people.
36:37And unfortunately, the police comes to the rescue of those who are influential.
36:45So the, it's the government to reply to such situations because if the government, if the
36:55police is not for the protection of the poor and the marginalized and the police continues
37:02to be the protectors of the, of the influential people who have committed crimes, who are, who
37:10have violated the law of the land, then the government has to sit up and take a decision on how
37:18to
37:19rectify these, uh, mistakes of the police.
37:25Are Kannadigas being sidelined by IT firms in Bengaluru?
37:29Are they being denied job opportunities?
37:31Well, some videos on social media have been going viral of Kannadigas claiming that they've been
37:36discriminated against and that IT firms are preferring outside cheaper talent to local talent.
37:42These posts, some of which also, by the way, have been fact-checked by the IT firms themselves,
37:47who say it's about talent and nothing else, has prompted now a warning from Karnataka
37:51Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar.
37:53Chief Minister Shivkumar has posted in Kannada on social media, saying that in Karnataka,
38:00the Kannadiga is sovereign, that the government will not allow the rights, dignitary and opportunities
38:05of Kannadigas to be disregarded for any reason.
38:08He's also a want of action if any private institution was found to have deliberately sidelined Kannadigas.
38:15It's not the first time we've seen this kind of local versus outsider debate in Karnataka.
38:20It's been brewing for quite a while over language, for instance, over the stressed infrastructure
38:25in the city with the locals blaming outsiders, and now over jobs too.
38:31Mind you, there has been a conversation, a debate over reservation for jobs for local talent,
38:37for Kannadigas in Karnataka. It was a move, a proposal that was even brought in by the government
38:43previously, but because of widespread outrage among IT firms, it's been put on hold.
38:48Now, Chief Minister D.K. Shivkumar has issued a warning to these IT firms.
38:52Is there any truth to the fact that Kannadigas are being sidelined?
38:56Well, for now, we've got the testimonies to go by on social media.
39:00Some of these firms have come out to deny these claims, saying,
39:03no, we're not picking outsiders over locals.
39:07Donald Trump has done it again. He's very often crossed the line when it's about
39:12women, when it's about comments about their women, particularly about their appearance.
39:16The latest singer, Nicki Minaj, who joined him for a campaign.
39:20And the comment that Trump made, well, it's something I can't say on national television.
39:24I'm leaving you with this report. Thanks for tuning in.
39:34Another day, another remark, and another controversy surrounding US President Donald Trump.
39:43This time, the moment came on stage with rapper Nicki Minaj,
39:47when Trump made a remark about her body that many found inappropriate.
40:07The comment has sparked a fresh round of online reactions. But here's the context.
40:13Minaj has openly declared herself Trump's number one fan and has repeatedly voiced her support for
40:20the US President. And the internet wasted no time weighing in. From sarcastic memes to sharp jibes,
40:39social media users turned the moment into a fresh trolling fest.
40:45Some even joked that Minaj could be Trump's next White House press secretary.
40:50Good morning, everyone. I am Nicki Minaj, the new White House press secretary,
40:53and I am here to drop bars on you. Bitches, it's finito. I call my car
40:57Rico because it's paid in full. Baby, my car don't get repoed.
41:00But this is not the first time Trump's remarks about women have raised eyebrows.
41:06Last year, he made a controversial comment about then White House press secretary, Caroline Leavitt.
41:15You put me in a position where there's absolutely nothing to grab.
41:20So I'm looking for something to grab and it's not going to be Caroline.
41:24And he has also made remarks about his wife, Melania Trump, that drew attention to her undergarments.
41:32My wife's closet, and I'll say this, number one, it's very bad, but it sounds a little strange.
41:41They looked at her drawers, but everything is perfect. Her undergarments, sometimes referred to as panties,
41:54are folded, perfect, wrapped. They're like so perfect. I said, that's beautiful. You know,
41:59it's the part of the world she came from. Everything was perfect, no problem. Fold, fold, fold.
42:04I think that she steams them, makes you just sit in.
42:09From public appearances to personal references. Trump's remarks have repeatedly triggered debate
42:15over where humour ends and disrespect begins. So, where do we draw the line?
