Maybe the Commanders should have rebuilt more like the Wizards after Josh Harris took over.
Transcript
00:00I still maintain that had the Commanders won, let's say, five games in 2024,
00:03they're not signing Terry McLaurin of that extension.
00:05They're completely looking at a full rebuild.
00:07But they were trying to operate in that space of like,
00:09we're a contender but also rebuilding.
00:11We surprised ourselves, but we can't lose this momentum.
00:13And it completely fell apart in 2025.
00:16The Wizards finally decided, we're not playing this like,
00:20let's just get to the play-in tournament BS anymore.
00:22We're going to gut this thing down to the studs.
00:24We're going to collect as many assets and as much young talent as we can.
00:28And then we're going to see who clicks.
00:30We're going to build a foundation around that.
00:32And then we're going to take the next steps.
00:33That's how you rebuild.
00:34And listen, everybody in D.C., everybody in that Wizards fan base
00:38understands what they were doing, respects the process,
00:41because you're seeing now the next steps.
00:4380% of the people knew.
00:45We got 20% to call in here.
00:47Well, listen, some people are crazy.
00:48We can't make everybody happy.
00:50It's just not going to happen.
00:51But having an understanding, if you are a team that is losing,
00:54but you have a plan and you're seeing that plan materialize,
00:58fans understand.
00:59Fans in this town, they understand that.
01:01And it's the same thing where if the Commanders had completely gutted that thing,
01:04they hadn't won all those games in 2024,
01:07but it was about a true rebuild and you started to see the progression
01:09going in the right direction, people would feel better.
01:12The problem is right now is you're watching this thing go backwards after 2024
01:16while the Wizards are going forward.
01:17And it's two teams, it feels like, kind of going in the opposite direction
01:20with their rebuilds right now.
