00:00There's just so much of this hammering of Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman
00:06of not winning a championship and the fans being upset about it.
00:09And it really makes you think, what are you watching sports for?
00:14What is it that you're trying to get out of the team?
00:18Entertainment and winning.
00:20Yeah.
00:20And I understand for someone who had just seen his first championship ever
00:26of any of his teams talking about me and how special that was.
00:30Like, I understand how much a championship means and when you don't have it.
00:33But really, it was if Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman were Steve Cohen
00:41and David Stearns, the way that these guys were grilling them yesterday.
00:46And I understand that it's the Yankees and it's the standard and all of these things
00:51and something's got to change because you're losing to better teams.
00:54It's the same thing over and over again.
00:55But, I mean, these guys are not failures.
01:00And that's what Hal Steinbrenner was asked about this.
01:03He's like, I can't say the season's a failure.
01:05It wasn't a total success because total success would be winning a championship.
01:10But we are not failures.
01:12And they're just essentially getting ripped by Heyman and Sherman and Klappish
01:18and everybody else as if they had the biggest financial disaster in the history of New York sports like the
01:26Mets did.
01:28And Yankee fans will say, well, yeah, you can't compare us to the Mets because we're the Yankees and you're
01:33the Mets.
01:34And it's a different standard, which is true to a certain degree.
01:38But, I mean, my Lord.
01:40I mean, I don't know if you felt the same way.
01:42I mean, like, what are we watching?
01:46Are you watching the games and enjoying the season and being a Yankee fan only for the feeling of a
01:51championship?
01:53Because if you are, then sure, you can rip these guys to shreds.
01:56But if you're going to games, you're enjoying it, you're talking to your friends about it,
02:00you're watching the games, you're watching them win,
02:02you get the excitement of watching Cam Schlittler start against the Red Sox, all of those things,
02:06these guys are not failures.
