00:00Before we get into anything else, we were talking off camera about this amazing neck piece you have.
00:04Tell me what you told me about its history and what it's worth.
00:08Well, this is called the hobby. It's the collecting of baseball and basketball and other cards, Pokemon for example.
00:15It turns out it's no different than buying up a castle back in 1958.
00:19These go up in value. This card is a modern, it's called, it's an Otani who's the goat.
00:24And, you know, a sport that he has dominated now in a unique way.
00:28So baseball is his thing. This is two patches from 2024-2025.
00:34Both those games, authenticated by the league, he hit home runs, he seems to do a lot of that.
00:38And it's worth about $11 million.
00:42So it should be inside this beautiful Tiffany case, 2.2 pounds of white gold, 110 carats of diamonds.
00:49And I must say, frankly, just to be honest, I don't let it go to my head, but I look
00:54fabulous.
00:54You do.
00:55Let's make sure I understand that for that, the guy cannot move because he's like, oh, my God.
01:00Because it's unreflected.
01:01He's so heavy.
01:02Season 18 is in full swing. How does this season raise the stakes on the Shark Tank formula?
01:08You know, we've learned over the years that Shark Tank is two years ahead of the market.
01:12So what you're going to see on Shark Tank now, you'll see on the shelves in about 18 to 24
01:16months.
01:17I think what you're seeing is amplify what made the show work.
01:21Small businesses.
01:22Anybody watching our show in their basement in middle America can invent a great product or a great business and
01:28end up on Shark Tank and change their life.
01:30It's very inspiring.
01:31I agree. I think now is the perfect time to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.
01:37People are struggling now, gas prices and all those things.
01:40They see the stock market doing well.
01:41They see people becoming billionaires and millionaires.
01:44But some people just don't have access to capital, don't have access to information.
01:48And when they show up on Shark Tank, they have a chance.
01:50You have so many incredible guest judges this season, whether it is Mr. Beast, J.J. Watts, Mindy Kaling.
01:58Did anyone, like, surprise you?
02:00Remember, there were two foster sisters and they were crazy chickens.
02:03We had a lot of fun with them.
02:05They're so weedy. They're so fun.
02:06It was great. They were great. Absolutely spectacular.
02:09They came right into television as if they owned it.
02:12J.J. Watts was amazing.
02:15I mean, I knew he would be great, but his understanding of operating a business really surprised me.
02:21And it's real money.
02:22Like, it's funny because people look at them as judges.
02:25But these people are coming, writing a real check in entrepreneurs and helping them scale their businesses.
02:30And the diversity of sharks, guest sharks we had on this season, I think people are going to really enjoy
02:36it.
02:36Robert and Kevin, you and the other sharks are so busy with your personal portfolios, businesses and families.
02:40And you've been here with the show for so long.
02:43What keeps you coming back?
02:45Kevin, I only do this show for me because of my love for Kevin.
02:50I love giving back.
02:52I feel I've been incredibly blessed to be in this position in life.
02:56And when somebody comes on our show, we had 20,000 people apply for the show last year.
03:00And we'll see about 150.
03:02When they're standing on that carpet, it's their dream.
03:06I know it sounds cliche, but we have an opportunity to change their life.
03:10I find that really inspiring.
03:12I know Kevin just does it for the money.
03:14Well, you know, look, I think what we are, the ambassador of the American dream, every one of us.
03:20And number one, export of America is not energy or oil.
03:23It's the American dream.
03:24And so this is what's great about it in these really difficult political times is we're bipartisan.
03:29We create jobs for red or blue, Democrat, Republicans.
03:32We just love doing it.
03:33And most of them want to be part of that mission.
03:36And so we enjoy a platform that's unique.
03:39Daniel, you're known as such an amazing judge of character.
03:42And I'm curious, what do you think makes Rashaun and Kendra Scott such great additions to the Shark Tank panel?
03:47Uh-oh.
03:47Wow.
03:48Besides their looks.
03:50I mean, honestly, they're a very handsome set.
03:54Kendra and I have known each other for many years.
03:56She and I are very, very good friends.
03:57Rashaun and I have become very good buddies.
04:01Rashaun, when you listen to him, like, you listen to him give advice and you're like,
04:05oh, wow, I hadn't thought about this.
04:07I've watched every episode.
04:08Like, I've been there eight seasons, but I've watched since season one what these guys were.
04:13And all of a sudden, Rashaun is bringing in new insights.
04:16And it's incredible.
04:17I love learning.
04:18And I love learning from his stuff.
04:20And Kendra's also very intuitive.
04:22She, like, also understands people very well.
04:24And she's very passionate.
04:25Yeah.
04:25She's tough.
04:26Oh, she's so tough.
04:27She's so tough.
04:28She lures them in with that southern tarp.
04:30Oh, I know.
04:31Hiya, honey.
04:32What?
04:32What?
04:34Yeah.
04:35They're both fantastic.
04:36I'm really energized to have them.
04:38Rashaun, you recently went in with your former shark, Mark Cuban, and your firm, Harbinger Sports Partners,
04:43First Take and the Athletics.
04:44What inspired this decision?
04:45And are you giving Mark all the sharky gossip behind the scenes?
04:50I am giving him all the gossip.
04:51And he's planting jokes and little secrets with me to help me have a competitive edge.
04:56So we won't reveal too much of that.
04:58But, yeah, he and I share a passion for sports.
05:00And we both are very interested in live entertainment, especially in this AI-driven society where a lot of things
05:08have been disrupted.
05:10Mark has a really strong wealth of knowledge since 1999 being an NBA owner.
05:16Our other partners are the CFO, the former CFO of Major League Baseball, CEO of football teams.
05:21So we put this whole group together, and we put our own money in these teams, and we're helping Americans
05:26for the first time have access to professional sports teams.
05:30A hundred years, the average American couldn't do it.
05:33Now they can invest to a private equity fund and have access.
05:35What is, like, the number one piece of advice you would give to any entrepreneur coming into Shark Tank with
05:39a pitch?
05:40Get your pitch down.
05:41Be able to explain the opportunity in 90 seconds or less.
05:44Tell us why you're the right person to execute on the deal.
05:47How you can de-risk it for us.
05:49And lastly, and so importantly, know your numbers.
05:52Seed round valuations don't exist.
05:53You don't even have the financials to really value the business.
05:56So if you come on Shark Tank, just know the way that I'm going to value your team or your
06:01business is looking at your qualifications, how obsessed and knowledgeable you are about this business, the team you've been able
06:06to assemble, and what traction you've been able to accomplish.
06:09I think in this market, in this world, there's a lot of distraction, a lot of noise.
06:13I don't care about your passion.
06:15I don't give a damn what you're passionate about because passion fades.
06:19I care what you're obsessed with because that's what's going to keep you going when it gets hard.
